None of the weddings I work on are designed to be award-winning. They're a whole process of looking inwards, really learning who people are, and then working out how to make a design unequivocally _them_, as well as experientially beautiful for all the guests who've travelled far and wide to celebrate with them.

To be recognised by Loverly as one of the Best International Wedding Planners and Designers for a third year in a row is incredibly humbling. I'm enormously proud that something created so specifically for the people who were there can resonate with people who weren't.

But more than anything, I'm grateful to my gorgeous clients for trusting me (and my process) to bring their ideas, personalities and stories into existence. 🤍

I don't want to disappear from your life when the wedding is over. We spend so long getting to know each other. I learn about your friends, your family, your tastes, the people you love and all the little things that matter to you.

And then the wedding happens, and suddenly we don't have nearly as many reasons to speak to each other anymore. It hits hard.

Which is why I felt so honoured when Alice and Matt - two of Laura and Eugene's friends - asked me to plan their wedding too. They'd loved Laura and Eugene's celebration in Mallorca as much as I did, and hoped I'd bring some of that same energy to theirs.

It meant I got to plan the most beautiful wedding in Paris (photos incoming!). But it also brought Laura and Eugene back into my life, with hugs we were reluctant to let go of.

First look, or portraits after the ceremony?

For destination weddings in warm countries, this decision matters more than you realise.

In sunny locations like Mallorca, the light earlier in the day is often harsh, creating shadows on your face, and making photos overexposed. A great photographer can handle it, but you won't see yourselves at your best.

By waiting until after the ceremony, not only are your nerves gone and you're feeling more relaxed, the light is much softer, which will leave you glowing.

Symbolic ceremonies let you create a moment that’s entirely your own - full of personal touches and design freedom that doesn't get interrupted with legal paperwork.

Laura & Eugene’s ceremony at Finca Morneta was exactly that - delivered by a friend, and with some of the most beautiful vows I've ever heard (I mentioned Laura was a writer, right?!).

Legalities can be managed before or after the wedding day, and give you one more reason for one more little celebration. One more outfit, too!

Couples often worry about first dances — that they’ll have to perform, that everyone will watch with judgement, or that it’ll feel cheesy.

In reality, first dances are still a huge hit. Guests love a spin, a lift, a dip, a kiss. These playful moments get everyone cheering and set the perfect mood for the dance floor so it stays alive all night.

If a first dance really isn’t for you, ask your MC to make a fun announcement: everyone’s expected to join you on the dance floor with their best moves ready. That way, the energy flows naturally, and no one is left waiting on the sidelines.
