Rows of timber benches, a pampas arch catching the afternoon light, and our old stone ruins standing guard on either side like they were built for exactly this moment. Lucy & Ben's ceremony lawn was dressed in soft neutrals and dried florals, letting the cypress trees do the backdrop work while the aisle runner led straight to "I do" ✨

This is the bit couples forget to picture when they first book a venue: the quiet ten minutes before it all begins, when the space is empty but already feels like it's holding its breath. We just make sure that view is one worth holding your breath for 🌿

One year ago today, Bekah and Leigh said "I do" at L'Chateau 🥂🤍

We still think about that afternoon. The way the light moved across the terrace as the ceremony began, the way Leigh's face changed the second he saw Bekah walking towards him, the way the whole room seemed to hold its breath before it burst into applause. Some weddings just have a feeling to them, and theirs was one you could bottle.

A year on, we love getting to watch it all again through the photos, the quiet portraits between the party moments, the first dance, the toasts that had everyone laughing and a little teary at once. Anniversaries like this are exactly why we fall for this job over and over 💍

The ones who knew you before "him" existed in your world at all 🤍

They waited up with you until 2am dissecting every text he sent. Helped you pick the outfit for date one (and vetoed the one you almost wore). Held your hand through the almosts and the almost weren'ts, before this love story even had a name. They watched the whole thing build in real time, long before he did.

That kind of front row seat isn't something you forget when you're choosing who stands beside you on the day itself. At L'Chateau we always leave room for the friendship story running quietly alongside the love story, because honestly, you wouldn't be you (or getting married) without them 👯‍♀️✨

Forever begins here, and so did the tears 🤍

On the 10th of October, blue bridesmaid gowns hung waiting in the morning light, each hanger stitched with a name and a date. Hours later vows were being read on The Lawn and one guest already had his hands pressed to his face, eyes shut, completely undone by it. By the time the sun went down the same two people who'd been getting ready in a quiet room were dancing under the fairy lights of L'Fête, laughing so hard the whole day nearly slipped away with it ✨

That's the arc we build every wedding around here, quiet morning nerves to a reception nobody wants to end 😌

We still remember that golden hour light hitting the aisle just as Bex walked down it, the kind of quiet before the "I do" where you can hear everyone holding their breath. Dan's face when he saw her for the first time said everything the vows were about to. By the time the first dance came around, all of the guests had happily forgotten to sit back down! ✨🌞

A year on, we love getting to watch these two celebrate their first anniversary, and it's exactly why we build each wedding day around the couple in front of us, so the whole thing still feels like them a year, five years, fifty years later 🤍🍃
