When we think of our wedding day, there are so many things we think we’ll remember.

The way someone laughed that night.
The sound of your family talking around the table.
The way the light came through the window.
What your grandmother was wearing.
How your partner looked at you when nobody was watching.

But time is strange…I feel like we remember the big moments because we know they’re important, or it’s the ones we have been putting all our intention on.
But there are so many other moments, the smallest ones, that we don’t realize we’re losing.

So I’ve started paying more attention to those.

The five minutes before everyone arrives, you’re looking at the view from your room, soaking it all in.
The hands fixing a suit.
The quiet sound of the ocean while the guests are arriving.
Your mom laughing in the background.
The version of you that exists for only a little while.
The way your friends and family are anxiously waiting for you while making conversation.

And not because every moment needs to be turned into something beautiful. But because one day, these ordinary things will be the things you miss, those things that you didn’t really notice are the ones you’ll wish you remember.

I make films and photos about people, places, and the little pieces of life that quietly become memories.
