On the blog this week we have a guest contributor, Andy Curtain of Melbourne Australia, with a beautifully written essay on the power and pitfalls of narratives and storytelling.

Andy is one of my favorite people. Someone I met while we were doing comedy together in Shanghai and a dear friend whom I still talk to every week. He has had a long and interesting journey through the world of international comedy and has worked directly with some of the biggest names in the industry - like Chappelle, Gaffigan, etc

More importantly, he is one of the best people to laugh with and is also a deep thinker. This piece is deep and will make you think. I hope you enjoy it!

Last week I finished the first weeklong intensive for my doctoral program at Western Theological Seminary. The doctorate is in theology and relational neuroscience. One night after class I took my classmates to a comedy open mic at a local bar.
