In August, the country's retail sales of goods increased by 3.6% year-on-year. According to data from China's National Bureau of Statistics, sales of goods related to trade-in programs maintained rapid growth, with retail sales of furniture, household appliances, cultural and office supplies, and communication equipment of above-designated-size retailers rising by 18.6%, 14.3%, 14.2%, and 7.3% year-on-year, respectively. Data from the Ministry of Commerce showed that in August, sales of tablets, smart air conditioners, and mobile phones at key retail enterprises increased by 20.7%, 17.7%, and 8.2% year-on-year, respectively. According to data from the China Automobile Dealers Association, retail sales of passenger vehicles in August grew by 4.6% compared to the same period last year.
