You know that special feeling when you teach someone something, and they finally get it? It's even more rewarding when they take that knowledge and put it into practice. This is exactly how we feel when we see the incredible work dialogue structure members of Nkwen, Ndzah, Alakuma, and Mendankwe are doing in thier communities to raise awareness about HIV-related stigma after the training organised by EasyHealth.
In Nkwen Urban, councilors hosted a sensitization program that fostered empathy and effective communication with Key Populations Living with HIV (KPLHIV) and People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
Meanwhile, in Ndzah, community members gathered to discuss universal health coverage and the benefits of the HPV vaccine for children aged 9-14, while also addressing the stigma faced by PLWHIV.
In Alakuma Health Area, the campaign continued with discussions that emphasized the importance of inclusivity and understanding.
Lastly, Mendankwe held a community meeting focused on universal health access and the urgent need to combat HIV stigma, with the powerful message, “Let’s stop stigmatizing PWHIV and live together as one.”
These efforts bring the community closer to a future where stigma no longer holds power.
