Last weekend Zermatt once again turned into the heart of the skyrunning world 🏔️🔥
The TREK® Matterhorn Ultraks 2026 delivered everything mountain racing is about, steep climbs, technical trails, high alpine terrain, changing weather and the Matterhorn watching over it all.
This year the mountains also showed who makes the rules. Heavy rain and a low snow line forced the legendary EXTREME race to start later and run on a shortened course, a reminder that up here, conditions can change everything.
Across the weekend, athletes took on the SKY 49 km with 3600 m+, MOUNTAIN 32 km with 2000 m+, ACTIVE 19 km with 1150 m+ and of course the legendary EXTREME, normally 26 km with 3066 m+.
Three days of racing, suffering, speed and pure mountain energy in one of the most spectacular places imaginable.
