Born and raised in South London, Melvo grew up immersed in jazz, soul, funk, gospel and early house. Those foundations run deep in everything he does. For him, house is not entertainment first — it’s culture, history and community.
As a DJ, Melvo Baptiste is known for deep, patient sets that unfold with intention. No rush, no shortcuts. His approach is rooted in music traditions and the original idea of the dancefloor as a shared, spiritual space.
Beyond the club, Melvo plays a defining role as A&R for Glitterbox, helping shape one of the most influential house platforms of our time. Broadcasted globally and reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners, the Glitterbox Radio Show is widely regarded as the most important house radio show in the world today. Week after week, Melvo sets the tone — connecting new releases with timeless records, spotlighting emerging artists while honouring the roots. It’s education, curation and dancefloor energy in one voice.
Alongside this, Melvo is a long-time NTS Radio host and the founder of The Remedy, his London-based party series focused on deep, conscious house music.
