𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: this is how we would describe our first Future.Blueprint event. It was a day where bold ideas met practical tools, and conversations sparked fresh perspectives on shaping the future.

💡 Future.Blueprint 01 highlights:

1. Embracing plural futures
“It’s not just one future, it’s many futures.” - Markus Iofcea. Together with Marcel Aberle, they shared how shifting our mindset from a fixed “future” to a spectrum of “futures” empowers us to navigate uncertainty with confidence. This concept, rooted in their book Zurück zur Zukunft, redefined how we think and plan for multiple futures.

2. Why bother with innovation?
“Because the future demands it.” - Marc Oliver Hauser
This session connected the dots between creativity, resilience, and long-term impact.

3. The Swissfuture guide
Georges T. Roos and Ramona Sprenger introduced publicly for the first time the Swissfuture guide, offering a practical framework to design robust futures. (link in the comments)

4. Turning ideas into action
A hands-on workshop on forecasting and backcasting gave attendees the tools to visualize bold futures and map out the steps to achieve them. Feedback? “I never thought of this before.”

More trust, more truth, or more of both?
DAOs promise to reshape organizations through transparent capital allocation and greater stakeholder participation.

Do we need a clear “How To DAO” manual, as suggested by Jan Brezina Brezina from H2D, or should we embrace the chaos, as Kusama’s ecosystem advocates? Bill Laboon ( Foundation) will share lessons from Polkadot and Kusama, while Jan offers concise, actionable advice for effective DAOing.

Is transparency always beneficial? Alexis Roussel (Nym Technologies SA) explores balancing it with privacy. Can token-based voting enhance participation, or should voting prioritize individual voices? Prof. Bryan Ford (EPFL) will discuss person-focused voting mechanisms.

Researchers Lorenzo Ronzani (SUPSI) and Michael Lustenberger (ZHAW) will present updated DAO research and Lugano’s ambition to become a “DAO city.”

While DAOs are revolutionary, key controversies remain to be resolved for them to truly redefine collaboration.
