Most elopement films end when the couple leaves. This one didn't.

Two years ago this week, Kat and Dmitrey flew in from the States for an elopement in Wengen. A helicopter to the glacier. Snow, ice and silence up high. Then back down into the valley … summer meadows, waterfalls, the full warmth of a Swiss afternoon.

I planned everything. Their stay in Wengen, the locations, the moments, the logistics. Every detail considered so they could be completely present for all of it.

Before they left, I showed them how to film. Because they weren't just taking their elopement home, they were taking their honeymoon through Europe, and they wanted everyone back home to feel like nobody had missed out.

They sent me their footage from the road. I wove it into the film.
A story that begins on a glacier in Switzerland and ends somewhere on a European adventure. Entirely theirs.

A love escape.

Two days in Switzerland. Every moment chosen with intention.
Vows exchanged at Schloss Spiez. Then at sunset in Wengen — because once wasn't enough.

A castle. A yacht on Lake Thun at golden hour. A helicopter to a glacier. A waterfall.

This is what eloping looks like when everything is designed around two people and nothing else.

I said no to styled shoots for years.
Then Sonia Petrazzi called.

When a Venice-based planner with that eye for detail invites you to San Clemente Palace Kempinski, you don’t say no. You clear the diary.
Sonia, photographer Stuart Wood and I had one brief between us … atmosphere, elegance and intentional storytelling. No trends. No performance.

The best creative partnerships feel effortless because everyone sees the same thing before it exists. This was one of those.

Someone questioned whether arriving at an elopement on a farmer’s tractor counted as luxury.

They deleted the comment. But the question deserves an answer.
No floral arch. No manicured venue. No itinerary designed to look good on someone else’s Instagram.

Just private land high above Wengen that most visitors never reach. A ceremony location with views that stop you mid-sentence. A farmer who trusts us enough to take us there and open his gate.

That’s not budget.
That’s rare.

Everyone’s idea of luxury is different. Ours is intimacy, access and the kind of privacy that can’t be booked through a venue coordinator.
Julia and Matt didn’t need an arch. They had the Alps.

He flew from Singapore with one thing on his mind. She thought it was just a trip to Switzerland.

Above Lauterbrunnen Valley. A location known only to those who know where to look.

Then an adventure through some of the most beautiful corners of Switzerland because when you’ve come this far, you don’t stop at one view.

She said yes.

We were led through stunning Wengen to the most breathtaking spot - where Emma made sure everything unfolded beautifully and every detail was perfect. Her dedication, creativity, and genuine warmth helped create the most special moment of our lives. We’ll forever be grateful”

Most people don’t travel to their elopement ceremony on the back of a farmer’s tractor.

But then again, most people don’t get married like this.
Julia and Matt climbed high above Wengen to reach a private ceremony location on land rarely accessed by visitors.

This is the side of Switzerland you only discover through local knowledge, trusted connections and a willingness to do things differently.
And honestly?

And then the bride got on stage and sang.

We were there before the sun was.

Private land above Lauterbrunnen Valley. Not a standard location. Not somewhere you find on a Pinterest board or a Google search.
The groom arrived in Wengen and knew. This was the place. We had 24 hours to make it happen.

We started in the dark. The valley below us, the mountains still waiting for the light. By the time the sun came over the ridge, it was done.
Then into the forest. Champagne in the sunshine. All wrapped up by 10am.

It was only afterwards I discovered Nykie is one of South Africa’s most recognised faces. It didn’t change anything about how I worked that morning. It never does.

Every proposal gets the same. Full presence, full commitment, the best location I know.

A dress like this doesn’t date. Neither does the film.
Olivia chose a Justin Alexander gown knowing it would still be beautiful decades from now. She chose San Gian for the same reason. One of the most iconic churches in Switzerland, just outside St Moritz. In October, with the larches turning gold and the first snow on the peaks, there is nowhere quite like it.
Then on to Suvretta House.
When you invest in something made to last, it shows.
