I have a confession to make...

For several hours that morning, I was carrying around a secret that only two people knew about.

Charles.

And me. 😏

Meanwhile, Shimin was happily exploring this magical corner of nature, admiring the views, laughing, taking photos, and enjoying what she thought was simply a beautiful bespoke adventure in the Swiss Alps.

And honestly? I don't blame her.

If you've ever been to this lake, you'll know it's the kind of place that makes you stop every five minutes just to stare at the scenery. Between the turquoise lake, the mountains, the waterfalls and the wildflowers, there are plenty of distractions.

Which was very convenient for a certain someone trying to hide an engagement ring. 😂

The funny thing is that when people imagine a surprise proposal, they usually picture the big moment itself.

The kneeling.

The ring.

The tears.

The yes.

But my favourite part is everything that happens before.

The anticipation.

The secret planning.

The nervous excitement.

The partner trying very hard to act completely normal while internally screaming.

And yes... sometimes me pretending I'm just there taking photos while quietly helping everything unfold behind the scenes. 😇

By the time we reached the lake, the plan was finally coming together. A little while later, Charles was down on one knee, Shimin was completely surprised, and what started as a mountain adventure suddenly became the beginning of a whole new chapter.

Moments like these are exactly why I love helping couples plan proposals in Switzerland.

Meanwhile me behind the scenes:
– checking 4 weather apps like my life depends on it
– scouting locations at sunrise to find the best light
– carrying camera gear uphill while questioning my cardio choices 😂
– helping couples relax because “we’re awkward in photos”
– fixing hair, dresses, backpacks, nervous energy and sometimes entire timelines
– creating backup plans because Swiss mountain weather loves drama
– hiking, driving, planning, guiding, editing for hoursssss

But yes. There is also a button involved somewhere 😌📸

Honestly though… this job is so much more than taking pretty photos.
It’s creating an experience where people actually feel something while living the moment — not just posing for it 🤍

Il y a quelque chose de très beau dans les amours qui n’ont plus besoin d’impressionner personne.

Pas besoin de grands gestes.
Pas besoin de poses parfaites.
Pas besoin de transformer un moment simple en performance Instagram 😅

Juste deux personnes qui se connaissent par cœur.

Une balade entre les arbres en fleurs.
Un plaid posé dans l’herbe.
Le vent du printemps.
Des petites habitudes silencieuses qu’on construit après des années ensemble.

Et honnêtement… c’est souvent là que je trouve les moments les plus émouvants à photographier.

Parce qu’à un moment, les photos ne servent plus seulement à “avoir de belles images”.

Elles deviennent une façon de garder une trace de ce qui compte vraiment.

Du calme.
De la complicité.
D’une saison de vie qu’on ne reverra jamais exactement de la même manière 🤍

Si toi aussi tu rêves de photos naturelles, douces et vraies — sans pression, sans poses figées et sans devoir “savoir quoi faire devant l’objectif” — peut-être que ce genre de séance est fait pour toi 🌸

That’s the goal. Every single time.

and then we let the real moments happen.

The laughs.

The little in-between moments.

The ones that actually feel like you.
So no… you’re not awkward.

We just spent a few days getting lost in the colorful streets of Sanremo and surrounding towns 🇮🇹✨

Slow mornings, wandering with no plan, stopping whenever something felt beautiful…
just being there.

And honestly, it reminded me of something I see all the time with my clients 👀

It’s not really about the place.
It’s about how you feel in it.

Because THIS is exactly what I create for my clients in Switzerland…
just in a different setting 🏔️

Wide open landscapes, fresh mountain air, quiet moments far away from the noise.

No crowds, no pressure. Just you, fully present in the experience.

Not posed. Not rushed.

Just real moments in nature that actually feel like you 🤍

And those?
Those are the ones you’ll want to remember.

Real talk:
kids don’t perform on command… and honestly, I don’t want them to 😏

Because the best moments?
They’re never the perfectly posed ones.

They’re the giggles, the running around, the “wait don’t do that—oh actually wait that’s cute” moments 😂

During this session, there was:
a lot of movement
a little bit of chaos
and zero expectation for things to be “perfect”

And that’s exactly why it worked 🤍

I always adapt to your child’s energy — not the other way around.
We play, we explore, we take breaks, we go with the flow.

Because your kids don’t need to be calm, quiet or “photogenic”…

They just need to be themselves.

(And yes… sometimes that means running around in the snow instead of smiling at the camera 😄❄️)
