Perched on a hilltop surrounded by ancient olive groves, Ed Tuttle’s marble-clad design pays homage to classical Greek architecture, creating a setting that feels both ancient in spirit and flawlessly contemporary.
For events, the property offers a level of architectural drama that is difficult to replicate. While the open-air amphitheatre can host ceremonies for up to 200 guests, the property also features multi-level luxury villas with marble floors and private pools, perfect for more intimate ceremonies and high-end receptions.
However, the “Aman experience” is built on absolute serenity, which brings specific logistical considerations. Amanzoe is a destination in the truest sense; located roughly 2.5 hours from Athens, it requires a carefully coordinated transport plan. For high-profile celebrations, helicopter transfers are the standard for the couple and VIPs to avoid the drive, while guest transfers by road must be managed with precision.
One logistical detail to prioritize: the property is split between the hilltop pavilions and the private Beach Club. Transporting guests between these two locations requires a flawlessly timed shuttle operation, as they are not within walking distance.
To maintain the sanctuary-like atmosphere for which the brand is known, larger celebrations necessitate a buyout. The property offers 38 guest pavilions, 3 beach pavilions, and 12 multi-bedroom villas, accommodating up to 82 guests on the property. This transforms the entire hilltop into a private estate, allowing for a level of personalization and privacy that is rare even in the ultra-luxury market.
We love this venue because, design-wise, Amanzoe demands a “less is more” approach. The scale of the colonnades and the reflecting pools is so iconic that over-designing can often detract from the venue’s inherent beauty. Working with a creative team that understands how to complement, rather than compete with, the minimalist marble landscape is key.
