As we know, networking doesn’t always happen over coffee and name badges. Sometimes, it happens on a yoga mat.
I attended my very first Networking in Heels Geneva yoga session with Sadhana Yoga—small group, intimate setting. On TV, yoga looks simple. Stretch. Breathe. Repeat. Reality check: stretching is not for the stiff bodied. Turns out I have the flexibility of a dry fish.
At this point, the evidence is stacked against me.
Swimming instructor: “Mercy, relax.”
Massage therapist: “You hold too much tension.”
Yoga teacher: “You really need to let go.”
Pattern recognised. Accountability accepted. I am, in fact, the problem 😄
Networking works best when you’re comfortable—physically, mentally, emotionally. Doing something different lowers the guard, changes the dynamic, and creates conversations. And yes, the post-yoga prosecco helped. A lot.
We wrapped up chatting about how the year is shaping up, our hopes, ambitions, and what a “different” year in Geneva might look like.
Strong start to the year.
More movement. More honesty. More letting go.
