If you were there then you know - the Rodd Grand ballroom was truly sparking for the 𝗪𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮 in support of the Tri-County Hospice Society.

Our vision was to transform the ballroom into a space worthy of a place in the Emerald City. And we believe we did just that - but we didn't do it alone. It took a community who cares and it truly shows that when local supports local, we can all succeed. 💚🩷

At Mile East, we believe that events should do more than entertain. They should create connection. They should inspire generosity. And sometimes, if we are lucky, they can create a 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 too.

When the power went out 2hrs before the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities social event we didn’t panic.
When the event organizer said, “I guess we’re cancelling,” we asked, Why?”.
When the venue owner asked if the event was off, we laughed and said, “You know us better than that!”
And when the caterer called to see if everything was still a go, we said, “We’re good if you are.”

Immediately we went into our inventory for 100+ battery candles and dozens of charged table lamps. We called JW Sounds and asked if he could bring all his battery powered uplights. He answered with, “Give me 5 minutes - I’m going to flood the ceiling.”
We set up a hotspot for the bar and transferred the drinks to an ice table.
We reduced the catering menu to what would be food safe for the evening.
And the event started on time and with a room full of conversation, food, beverages and light!
In the event industry cancelling is last resort. We’re solution driven and connected to the best partners who are committed to making things happen.
And when the guest list includes 160 mayors and councillors from across the province - why wouldn’t we show off that Yarmouth can shine no matter the circumstances. ✨

Normally I like to give a little reintroduction of Mile East Productions in the spring with a photo of Rick and I (Candice) smiling at the camera. Pretty, professional and perfect.

This year I felt this photo was a much truer representation of us and our team. A little silly. At times, chaotic. But authentic. A team who is looking at the season ahead and ready to conquer it all.

We're already 17 events and about a hundred meetings in to event season with many more to come.

Here's what we can promise from us this year and always:
- thoughtful weddings with your vision brought to life
- expert and honest feedback when it comes to what is possible within a space, budget and timeframe
- events that focus on community and bringing people together
- detailed timelines and high standards
- a little cursing (behind the scenes) but nothing except our game faces when it's go-time

As the sun dipped and they shared vows, Bailey & Shane's wedding fit everything they envisioned. Simple, intimate and truly them.

Bailey had inquired about our micro wedding package and was drawn to the ease of it all. Able to choose the details that fit them best, the day was exactly what she wanted.
