A formal announcement for this project will take place at the NGCC Molgat site in the Play Park on Thursday, August 20th at 11 am. Please join us as we celebrate this facility improvement!
NGCC has some exciting news to share! We have gratefully received funding from the Government of Manitoba "From the Ground Up" grant, Councillor Mayes LDR Fund and the City of Winnipeg's "Community and Neighborhood" grant. Together with money from our General and Lottery accounts, this $192,000 project that has been in the planning stages for 2 years is finally becoming a reality
The project includes the addition of an Accessible Wheelchair Swing that allows those in a wheelchair to swing with friends - this will augment all the other Accessible features that our Play Park has already.
It will also include the addition of 9 more parking spots along the south side of the gym wall along the edge of the greenspace. For anyone the visits us regularly, parking is at a premium most days and evenings, so this will help a bit.
The last portion of the project is the addition of 2 shade structures that are 12' x 12' each. This will provide much needed shade for those that come on hot days and need some relief from the sun.
