Has been a constant contributor to Winnipeg’s Psy scene for an unreasonable length of time. With more than two decades worth of DJ experience, his mission is to enable a party by any means necessary. Usually that entails not only playing sets that range from mellow and groovy to hard and fast, but also designing and building many of the sets and decorations used in Winnipeg Psy’s shows over the years.

You might think of FreqKing as a DJ and promoter with a passion for psytrance, house, funk, breaks, and techno. Someone with 20 years of experience playing across Canada at clubs, raves, festivals, and any kind of event in between. Maybe you think of him as a former resident at Winnipeg’s iconic gay club Happenings or a local radio host. Or as a long-standing member of Winnipeg Psychedelic Productions.

But you’d be wrong. What you see is a shell, a host body devoid of will. No one knows exactly how or when the self-replicating psychedelic frequency first achieved sentience, but it long ago consumed FreqKing’s mind. Leaving only one drive, one desire, one burning need. More. psychedelic. music.

Chris Beiko Ever since that pivotal, perception-shattering night when he first saw Yoni Osrat (a.k.a. Ace Ventura) play a three hour sunrise set at Motion Notion 2010—and suddenly realizing the truly gravitational might of the Psytrance—local maniac Chris Beiko has been a relentlessly devoted acolyte to the all-powerful Psytrance Gods. Awakening bolt-upright to the shockingly obvious realization of a compelling new mission in this plane of existence, he joined up with his newfound friends, the zealous worshipers at the well-established army of Winnipeg Psy in 2012, and has been throwing parties with them ever since. Specializing in the full-on-est of full-on, Beiko is always searching unrelentingly for the most hard-driving, mind-twisting, spirit-gripping tracks that he can draw forth from the psychedelic ectoplasm, to deliver to our ears and to our feet on the dance floor, so that we may become grounded hard like existential iron to this giant flying magnet we call earth, and unleash the inner psychedelic spirit lightning in exuberant and ecstatic fashion in tribute to the mighty Psy Gods. Helping throw great parties for great people, and keeping the power of the music alive, are also on his list of favorite things.

Mia "Fun Facts" Pohl

In true Winnipeg fashion, Mia wants to tell you about the great deal they got on materials for making the decorations for the show. One day they hope to optimize decorating to the point that entertaining psychedelic colours and shapes spontaneously burst forth from the void from which all is born and returns. Can be easily found by following the trail of lost bedazzles littering the local area.

Kayla Chafe Kayla’s energy and passion leaves an impression! Her introduction to Psytrance was only a few years ago. The music swept her heart away with the beats bringing her to a new frequency! She loves building community, specializing in communications and networking along with doing a little bit of artistic this and that. Kayla helps create a positive environment, elevating a higher vibration in the dance scene and Psytrance parties for you!
