Every couple is a little nervous before an engagement shoot.

You show up not really knowing what to do with your hands, and the first ten minutes feel a little stiff. Then somewhere along the way you stop thinking about the camera and start just being with each other.

These two were no different. By the end they were laughing, teasing each other, and completely themselves, and you can feel that in these photos. Their personalities come through in every frame.

So if you’re nervous about yours, that’s normal. Give it ten minutes. It’s the easiest way to get comfortable before the wedding day.

Their wedding is this week and I can’t wait.

Wish I could share more but here’s a tiny glimpse of the 5am sunrise wedding. With lots of precautions and approvals this couple had a beautiful and respectful candle lit ceremony. I didn’t want to kill the mood with lots of lighting but to add to it where we could capture moments in near darkness.

The best moments don’t wait for you.
I had positioned myself for the entrance in one spot, and thought I had time to reposition. The energy in the room told me to move fast.
I almost missed this one and I’m glad I didn’t.
These slides and the video are what happened in the ninety seconds I almost spent on the wrong side of this one.
