Winnipeg Wedding Photographer Chris Jensen Studios

Hello, my name is Chris Jensen of Chris Jensen Studios. I started taking pictures back when I was 4 years old with my Dad’s camera and have had one with me ever since. I grew up Stonewall, MB and when I was little, I got a job delivering papers for the Winnipeg Free Press. As a prize for getting customers I got myself a camera and took pictures of everything and everyone and pretty much every pet in the neighbourhood (I love animals). Later on after I got my Commercial Pilot Licence, as a gift, my parents gave me my first SLR camera, and I took photos of all my adventures as a bush pilot and medivac pilot. It went everywhere with me, even in the high arctic with the polar bears and narwhal when I flew medivacs out of Resolute Bay and Iqualiut for Kenn Borek Air. In the meantime, when I was on days off, I was shooting weddings for friends, family, people I went to university with, ect. Everyone kept telling me that I should do this for a living and that I was very good. I didn’t think of it as a career at the time because I was a pilot. Fast forward and I am flying for Air Canada when it dawned on me that I should give this a real try. I never want to live a life with the “what if” question. I was getting very very busy as a wedding photographer and our CEO at Air Canada made it impossible to commute to work and I was home 16 hours a month my last year there, and my son needed his Dad, and I needed my best friend, my son. So I asked my amazing wife what she thought of me leaving flying behind and going for it as a full time photographer. She said “It’s about time, go for it”. The first year as a full time photographer and I won Photographer of The Year, and have never looked back. Some of my very best friends are my past wedding couples. I love what I do and always know how lucky I am to be doing this amazing job and being a part of someones most important day of their life. I am truly thankful and grateful to all of my couples, wonderful vendors, and other clients I have met along the way of this amazing, wonderful life!! Thank you!!!!
