We had a blast dancing to the Dixie Beats Big Band at the UMSwing Dance Club open house last Wednesday! It was fun to meet all the new dancers and catch-up with the other alumni. Shoutout to everyone involved with the showcase. Your routine was fun and fabulous at the same time!

The University of Manitoba Swing Dance Club is hosting a FREE live band dance for their Winter 2025 Open House, and we’re going! Come with us to dance, support the community, and help welcome new dancers taking their first steps into swing!

📍 Where? EITC Atrium
📅 When? Wednesday, January 29
- Doors open: 6:00 PM
- Free beginner lesson: 6:15 PM
- Live music with The Dixie Beats Big Band: 7:00 PM

No partner or experience needed—just bring your energy and enthusiasm!

As always, anyone actively enrolled in a UMSwing Dance Club class can attend our social dances for free for the duration of their class, pending proof of paid enrollment.

Let’s fill the floor and show them how much fun swing dancing can be!

2️⃣ A Water Bottle – Dancing is thirsty work, so stay hydrated.
3️⃣ Your Indoor Dancing Shoes – Choose smooth, flat soles for easy movement on the floor.
4️⃣ Festive or Vintage-Inspired Attire – Dress to impress and bring the holiday spirit!
5️⃣ Hygiene Essentials – Bring deodorant, breath mints, and anything else you may need to stay fresh. Everyone appreciates a clean dance partner!
6️⃣ Optional Donation – Show your appreciation for live music by contributing directly to the St. Charles Big Band during the event.

Whether you're a pro on the dance floor or have two left feet, our social swing dance is the perfect way to get moving and have some fun!

📍 Hastings School Gym, 50 Hastings Street
🕖 Lindy Hop crash course at 7 PM
🕤 Social dance from 7:30 - 9:30 PM
