“You see, I have created songs many times but, this particular time while sitting by my Sacred Fire, fasting. A blizzard arrived and I sat through the wind and snow and made prayers and asked for help for my Late uncle, Black Wolf. The sun appeared and very quickly melted all the snow. At that point the song arrived while witnessing all of this. Everything about this moment was so very beautiful and amazing to see. I witnessed the Power of change and resilience. It was a very tiny moment in time...but an Enormous event of Life. It was a Victory of sorts. As you may know in our People’s history, we never ran from The Storm. We embraced it and Ran straight in to it. That’s how strong we are and have become!
