Hey fam!! A lot of performers are suffering from cancelled events across Canada and fans are disappointed when it happens. But it happens because people have been waiting to the last minute to buy tickets these days. And for many of the performers (and venues), if they aren't seeing ticket sales, they have to make alternative plans to support themselves (these shows are their livelihood).
I haven't been doing many shows compared to a few years ago and this is the primary reason - the shows are expensive to produce. I pay performers a fair wage, I pay venues, staffing, etc...
If you know you want to attend a show, get your tickets as soon as you decide. Venues, artists, promoters, etc are on the hook for expenses when planning events and the closer to the event date, the more committed to those expenses they become. And sadly, that means if they're seeing low sales early, the will often pull the plug early too.
This isn't about any one event, I'm hearing it from the artists and industry across the land.
Thanks
