On behalf of White Rock businesses we want to take a moment to say thank you.

This has been an extremely difficult week for our entire community. We experienced a tragedy that does not happen here and we have all been rattled.

Through this tragedy, as White Rock always does we have come together to support each other. This is the White Rock way.

Thank you to the RCMP for increasing patrols and officers on the beach creating a very visible presence which has helped immensely in returning a sense of safety to the waterfront.

Thank you to everyone who, despite fear, have come down to support our businesses either in person or by ordering take out.

Our businesses have remained open with employees showing up and delivering exceptional service through fear and uncertainty. Businesses have implemented enhanced safety measures including buddy systems in addition to security cameras that many businesses already have in place.

Through all of this our hearts are with both victims especially the family of Kulwinder Singh Sohi who was taken far too soon in a senseless attack that none of us can understand. We are sending all of our thoughts to his family at this time and have trust in IHIT and the RCMP that the suspect will be caught soon.
