This one is pure wrestling nerd stuff. Today I was able to receive the original match of the week sketch from Chris Things Art from the first time that Xelhua Luchador fought Rey Hechicero

This was from an event held by Daniel Ledesma on July 28, 2024 and we (SVW) were able to sponsor it and help make this match happen.

What makes this drawing so great is that I also own the mask that Xelhua used in this match. It is absolutely stunning and one of the best in my collection.

Finally, a big shoutout to Black Terry Jr. for capturing the original photographs used in this match that show off this incredible moment.

Mexico and Lucha Libre is simply the best. The history and stories behind everything are why it is my favourite style of wrestling.

I could not tuck this post away on my collectible page. I needed the most wrestling nerds around to see it!

Despite retaining the SVW Championship versus Michael Allen Richard Clark on August 22 at “Summertime in the Void”, Christian Starr Christian Starr was left feeling the wrath of a pi**ed off Dante Leon Dante León ダンテ・レオン as he wants what he believes should still be his!

Dante attacked Starr after the victory, and he and Clark pummeled Starr until Levi Night Levi Night stepped in to make the save!

Things could get “Loko” 😉 shortly as Dante looks to regain the SVW Championship that was lost at “Come Hell or Highwater” on April 11.

We finished things off at “Summertime in the Void” by crowing our inaugural SVW Lucha Champion.

Briyante RB and Psycodelia did not disappoint! Both of these men wanted this championship and they were ready to win at any cost.

Psychodelia was able to keep Briyante grounded and continued to work on his legs! If you cannot walk, you cannot fly! This technique worked well as he made Briyante submit and he is now the SVW Lucha Champion.

Also!!! Winner was crowned number one contender for the SVW Tag Team Championship!

Kelly Gower and JOHNNY 2 FINGERS & THE D’S renewed their alliance with Jacked Jesus Shaggy Campbell while newcomers Los Malditos Hector De Oro and Lonzo Romero came to make a name for themselves! Neither team could overcome the chemistry of The Rogue Kings Dalton Rogue and King Bright of the 6🤴🏾

Dante Leon Dante León ダンテ・レオン was a man possessed during his match with Levi Night

Levi could NOT in fact go ALL NIGHT LONG, as he fell victim to Dante’s high impact attacks! Dante Leon walked away with the victory and reestablished himself as a threat for the SVW Championship!

Despite the violence inflected on each other. Respect was shown as Carlos Oliva walked away as the inaugural SVW Hardcore Champion!

Briyante Briyante RB has arrived in and we have had the chance to make the rounds and visit some sponsors and local attractions! It’s always a good time showing the sights to people from other countries. Thanks again to one of our presenting sponsors for the quick tour.

Had to head to the Weyburn Public Library to see his mask on display right next to the man who he will be facing for the inaugural SVW Lucha championship on Saturday, August 22.

Thanks to Weyburn Dodge for showing Briyante a new truck that he is thinking of taking back to Mexico!

Too good… had to take an extra photo Weyburn Dodge …. That truck is going home and making some wrassling miles!
