Hiring a DJ for your company event? Before you sign anything, ask a few questions. 🎧

Ask what happens if something goes wrong, because a good DJ has backup gear and a plan so the music never stops. Ask whether they can MC, since someone who can handle the mic for speeches, awards and transitions keeps the whole night on track.

Ask how they handle your playlist and do-not-play list, so you know the music will suit a mixed crowd. Ask when they arrive to set up and sound check, because the room should be ready well before guests walk in. And ask what’s in the contract, so the price, deposit, overtime and cancellation terms are all clear in writing.

2. Your venue. Ask about power, load-in times, sound limits and house AV early.

4. Your timeline. Your DJ can also MC, so arrivals, dinner, awards and the dance floor all land on time.

We kicked off our first wedding of the season this past weekend and the dance floor did NOT disappoint.

I gotta admit, as someone who has worked in production and entertainment for most of my life, I watch the Super Bowl more for the halftime show than the game. Let’s be real, the game is often not much of a competition, but hundreds of people working together to set things up, rock the stadium, and then get the game back on is always impressive to me.

Bad Bunny killed it in an inspirational performance for the ages and has a good rundown here on some of the challenges the crew had putting together this beast of show.
