A very Happy Birthday to our "work child" - actually a fine young man- Bruce! Turning 23 today!

Aside from his great help with many vatering gigs over the past 3 years, he's just completed and about to graduate from year one in Automotive from NSCC!

We are so extremely proud of his accomplishments this year and so happy to know this fella!

We are gearing up for a busy summer and already 5 confirmed weddings on our calendar! In spite of potential increases in both food and fuel, we will hold current contracts as is.

We will not offer definitive contract pricing on any quote requests for events in 2027. Sorry.

NO MORE HOME BASED WEDDINGS OVER 60 PEOPLE WITHOUT A TENT. Home based weddings may be subject to additional fees at the diescretion of me.

ALL WEDDINGS in a facility with certification will get 10 percent off - Thinkers Lodge, Peace Hall, Pugwash Curling Club, Wallace Charman Community Hall, Wallace Heritage Museum, Malagash Community Hall, Malagash Legion, if they have a certificate, we are a go.

Last year, we celebrated our 20th. This year our focus is on quality product, quality events in a new era of crazy world market instability.

I am not looking for tire-kickers.
Our reputation is evident. Our work is well documented and lauded. That said, I am a sucker for romance - so if you want to book your wedding with us, here's what we offer:

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and condolences on the news of my father's passing on February 1st.
He was my compass and my hero and was so loved by so many.
I plotted my calendar this year to host/cater his 90th birthday on August 29th. Clearly it was not to be.
We will still go ahead with a family gathering to celebrate the milestone of our patriarch at a time of year when we can gather in warmth and sunshine rather than chill of a send off in NS winter.

So we had a wonderful evening with the Hobman family celebrating a mid holiday season get together at the lovely Westchester Fire Department's gorgeous gathering hall.

The recently remodeled kitchen (thanks to savvy folks accessing community center grants via the Fed Gov't initiatives) was simply a perfect space to work from - all new equipment - commercial grade from a double sided deep fridge (larger than some apartments I've lived in) to the gorgeous double wide flat top grill and all of the gear needed for entertaining. Simply a great space to work in.

The Hobman folks were a joy to work with and asked us to mark the date for same time next year. DONE!
Thanks to my crew - Charlene, Grace and Bruce - the soon to be certified auto- mechanic school graduate.

Our next event is with the Hardie clan and their friends - this year marks 14 years doing this event. It's the highlight of our calendar.
Annual events such as these are always a thrill and this one is always special to us. We've got Chase's Lobster Bisque and Ebbett's Farm Prime Rib on the menu as main course for another 4 course culinary adventure!

I may (who am I kidding) sing a celebratory song for this wonderful and supportive group to ring in 2026!

And that's a pre-Christmas wrap for vatering.

Thanks to the attendees of Friday's POP UP in Pugwash and to our lovely hosts Sheilagh and Sandy last night for the annual fete in Tatamagouche.

We have two more events before we close out our 20th anniversary year - a festive holiday family gathering for friends in Westchester on the 27th and NYE with our dear friends on the Wallace River (this is the 14th year we've done this event!).

2026 is shaping up quickly with 3 events in late January and 4 weddings on the books into the summer months.

I want to say thanks to all of our wonderful clients and friends who helped make our 20th anniversary so special.

A big thanks to our wonderful suppliers and vendors who kept us stocked with local goodies all year long - Aquashell, Wallace Rite Stop, Co-Op and Foodland, Ebbett's Farm and Market, Masstown Market, Chase's Lobster and Seafood, Dickie's Meats, Vista Bella Cidery and Apiary, Tatamagouche Brewing, Sunrise Country Market, Alder Meadow Farms, Mud Lee Studios, Fusions Bistro, the divine Winnie Coulter and of course the fine folks at Jost Vineyards.

Last but certainly not least - a huge thanks to my wonderful, resilient and professional crew who have outdone themselves this year: Charlene, Jenny, Grace, Becca, Bruce, Kelly, John - I love you all!!

WOW! Did we ever luck out with the weather in Pugwash tonight!
The Vatering Pop Up 2! at The historic Peace Hall was a perfect setting for our 30 attendees!
Lots of wine, beer, non alcoholic bevvies provided by our dear friends at Jost Vineyards, Tatamagouche Brewing, Malagash Cidery and foodie treats furnished by Chase's.

So just had a chat with my friend Pradeep at Fusions Bistro in Pugwash and decided to buy 2 tickets for this fabulous event at her gorgeous resto!
She wanted to donate these and I said NO! I get this business and I know that this is their first year of operation and I am truly about supporting local. I'd support Fusions anytime, much as I know she would do for me clearly, as well.

This will be a bonus prize to be drawn on the 12th at the Peace Hall during our Vatering POP UP 2. The draw will apply to all of the ticket holders from both events!

I was going to keep it for myself, but as I joked with Pradeep - I am diabetic and would likely enjoy and survive something on the savoury side from her fabulous place!
