Decided to let the girls self-entertain for the afternoon and had a delightful lunch at Restaurant Origines in Le Broc. I wasnt aware that only 25 minutes away, down a mostly dirt road, through farmers fields, there was such an elegant destination with a killer panoramic view. Silly me. (Also accessible by the autoroute). Friendly and helpful staff and a charming chef too. Every dish was a winner. Creative and delicious. Looking forward to putting it on our annual rotation.

A few highlights from the delicious island of Malta. I don’t think we found a single disappointing dish. Great quality products. If they weren’t local they were usually imported from nearby Italy or Greece. Exceptional value - we weren’t aware that Malta is notably less expensive than continental Europe when we planned the trip. Last but not least, top notch service professionals (from all over the world).

Ohlalala, Guadalajara!! A great place to eat and drink to say the least. Here are few highlights, but there was so much more…Patrick’s birthday at and NYE at we’re definitely top notch. Due to extreme hunger we didn’t get a photo . Let that be our endorsement of some of the best burgers we’ve ever had and a great beer list. The adorable el pastor set up was a total gimmick, but I loved it.

Fun fact: Colombia is the world’s second largest flower exporter. Some of them are tasty too. We’re not usually salad enthusiasts, but this one was irresistibly pretty and the passion fruit dressing was delish. # #48

Bringing the island of Madeira to Victoria. We learnt a fun new bbq style on our spring holiday to Portugal! Beef (rib eye in this case) marinated, skewered and grilled on laurel branches. Served suspended above the buffet! Served in the traditional style w green salad, fries and polenta cubes. A fun addition to our repertoire.
