Gabriella and I have talked every single Tuesday for over two years. We met online in a group for creatives. What started as weekly business calls became something I genuinely look forward to every week. She is one of the happiest people I’ve ever met and someone who lights up a room with her smile - and Josh is her other half. So when they asked me to fly to Honesdale, Pennsylvania to photograph her wedding, it was a no-brainer.

What I witnessed this weekend is something I will carry with me for a long time. I got to see the impact that two very loving people have on everyone around them.

There are too many highlights to share in such a short caption, so here are the spark notes:

▫️Gabriella’s first look with her dad. He could hardly turn around because he felt so emotional. She gifted him a handkerchief engraved with a phrase they say to each other.
▫️Josh finally getting to see her during their private first look. They showed off their outfits, saw their dog Lenny, shared private vows, and Gabriella gifted Josh a collection of letters she started writing after thier first date.
▫️The most fun grand entrance, going right into first dances. This had all the family in tears - especially when Gabriella surprised her mom with a mother daughter dance.
▫️The sweetest speeches (this is my favourite part of the night to capture reactions from the couple!)
▫️A sunny golden hour!! We love golden hour. After the forecast called for rain and clouds the weeks leading up to the wedding day, this was a wonderful surprise on the wedding day
▫️A 2-3 hour dance floor that was full all night, followed by the couple sharing a private last dance (more photos to come again soon)

09.20.25

We love a ‘first touch’ moment, for the couples that don’t want to see each other before the ceremony. These two had time to share their private vows that weren’t meant for anyone else to hear.

We had a team of four capturing both photo and video. We had a hard time sharing our favourite moments from the day because there were too many. Getting ready with a big group of people all celebrating the couple. A beautiful ceremony by the ocean. An emotional first look when the bride walked down the aisle. A wedding party that rallied for photos and dancing in the rain. Speeches that had everyone laughing. An entire room getting a surprise ‘ice’ drink. The mother-son dance that had everyone in tears. A dress change for an incredible dance floor.

Gowlland Harbour Resort on Quadra Island is one of those venues that has it all. The water, the trees, the spacious reception and ceremony areas. When you get married here, it feels like you’ve stepped out of the rest of the world for a day. It’s the kind of place that makes people slow down.

Such a great wedding day!!

Braden texted me the morning of the proposal that he thought he was going to throw up 😂

I don’t think he had nerves about what she would say, but he just wanted it to be perfect for her. He spent months planning and actually pulled off the surprise (something he was very worried about since she can read him so well).

My partner Bryce and I have been friends with Braden and Amanda for years, so when Braden asked us to capture this, it was a yes immediately. What I didn’t expect was how completely nerve-wracking it would be. I capture proposals all the time, but this felt like I was on the inside. A day before the proposal, the 4 of us had dinner together and I kept thinking, ‘wow she has no idea that this time tomorrow she’s going to be engaged.’

We shared our iPhone locations so we knew when they’d make it to the ‘picnic’ (proposal) spot. We were tracking them downtown, dodging the same streets so they wouldn’t spot us, throwing on disguises, and finally hiding in bushes for 30 minutes waiting.

Braden knew that having their dog there would be special for Amanda, but their dog also loves Bryce. So for the whole 30 minutes we were in the bushes, Braden kept feeding their dog endless treats so she wouldn’t get too excited if she saw us 😂

Finally the time had come. Braden made her an anniversary photo book of their ten years together. The last page had that day’s date and a blank space for one more photo. He went through every page with her to relive their whole relationship before he got down on one knee.

She said yes, and a few tears were shed in the bushes

Ten years, countless travels, a new house, and now this. A huge congratulations to these two 🤍

I had the pleasure of capturing this intimate elopement at a beach front home in Tofino. They spend the morning getting ready together, followed by a ceremony on the beach, truly private vows under treecover away from myself and the officiant, followed by some beach roaming. They ended the night in the perfect way, under twinkle lights covering the deck. They cut their cake together, shared a drink, and spent the rest of the evening dancing to their favourite music.

Harwinder reached out a few months ago wanting to plan a proposal that felt personal and build a plan around what Imran would love. He’d already planned a dinner afterwards where their friends would surprise them, and picked up the flowers and champagne!

He chose the most private area at Saxe Point where they would go for a nice walk before dinner. When it was time, he gave me the wave. As he got down on one knee, myself and my team got in position with both photo and video to capture the moment forever.

Like most of these proposal shoots, we give the couple some solo time after to soak up what just happened, before going into a celebratory photoshoot!

This time was followed by champagne on the beach, overlooking the mountains, and exploring the entire area which they had all to themselves. We even stumbled upon some cherry blossom trees before they headed out to the next surprise.

These two were SO fun to work with and had the best energy the whole time! Incredibly grateful to witness such a beautiful proposal 🤍

I hit 100 five star reviews on Google this week

It might not seem like much to some people, but my inner child that thrives off of feedback is absolutely giddy. I feel like I need to jump around and celebrate.

Like most people, I’m not great at celebrating accomplishments - but I do love having numbers to back up any progress I’m making. Something as simple as reviews means so much, especially now that there’s 100?!? Wild.

Do you know how hard it is to give reviews? I ask that seriously. I’ve had some phenomenal experiences with businesses and the last thing I think to do is leave a review. Something that takes a few minutes feels overwhelming or in the back of my mind.

So thank you to everyone that has left a review over the years. It’s proof to myself that all the hard work over the years does mean something.

*this video is from my birthday earlier this year, but mentally I’m clapping, eating cake and I have a huge smile on my face over this*

My cousin got engaged! (And we did these weeks before the wedding so she’s also married now!)

Before the shoot she was so nervous to take engagement photos, to be in front of a camera. So here’s what we did..

First, when we had an initial call to plan the shoot, I wanted to dive deeper into why there was this nerve. In the past, a professinal photographer captured her all wrong. It didn’t feel like her. So we went over why.

Next, we talked a lot. Before the shoot, during the shoot, all throughout the process. I showed her photos on the back of my camera as we went, so she could see just how incredible the two of them looked in real time. And at the end, I let them choose every single image from the gallery so they’d walk away loving every one of them.

You’d literally never know she was nervous at the start - we crush that feeling very quickly.

These two have been together for over three years, and you can feel how solid their connection is. Every weekend they drive out to Jordan River to watch the sunset and have a beach fire - that’s their thing. (secretly so jealous, what a cool weekly tradition) Every year they also go off-grid for a few days to their favourite beach. It’s intentional and it’s them.

During our intro call, he said that ‘these have been the happiest three years of my life’ 🥹 You can see it in the photos. So happy for them.

Their engagement session took us to the beach with the mountains in the background. Their Elopement took us up into those same mountains.

It was like capturing two people who have been best friends for life, everything about their connection just flows. You know what I’m talking about? There’s those couples in your life that it works so well it’s almost unbelievable hahah.

When we first hopped on a call to talk about the wedding, Angela made a joke that their first date was like an interview. She laid out exactly what she wanted, and he loved that about her. And now here we are, witnessing so much fun and love on top of a mountain.
