SPECIAL GUEST DJ #2 — ASTRO!

Now some of you might be saying… “Wait, wasn’t Astro at i-Land Fest this year?” YES! He was in the building and even touched the decks for a little bit — but he was never actually on the official lineup.

Wellllll… that hadda fix!

This time, Astro is OFFICIALLY on the lineup and flying in for i-Land Fest Tabanca Fete! And if you don’t know the calibre of DJ we’re bringing to Victoria, SWIPE. 👈🏾 The resume, the experience, the stages, the artists he’s worked with… it speaks for itself.

From DJing alongside and for some of soca’s biggest names, including Machel Montano, to being part of one of the biggest Road March moments in recent Carnival history — Astro has been behind the music and behind the decks at a whole different level.

FIRST TABANCA GUEST REVEAL!

Victoria, we told you we were flying in some HEAVY hitters for Tabanca… so it’s time to reveal the first one.

DAWG E SLAUGHTER IS BACK!

If you know Soca, you KNOW Slaughter. This man is a veteran of the culture and has been shelling down fetes, Carnivals, stages and sound systems for DECADES.

Especially if you were outside in the early 2000s… his catalogue is SERIOUS. 😮‍💨

Our very first Lime & Sip was everything we hoped it would be—an electric evening of connection, culture, conversation, and Caribbean hospitality.

As our exclusive Thursday VIP experience, Lime & Sip gave us the opportunity to introduce guests to the work of the Caribbean Hub while celebrating the richness and diversity of Caribbean arts, culture, and history.

Guests enjoyed incredible performances from local Caribbean artists, experienced the breathtaking tradition of the Moko Jumbies (ancient Caribbean art form of stilt walking) explored the history of Caribbean culture and Carnival, and admired the artistry of local mas designers (an artist who designs and produces costumes worn during Caribbean Carnival celebrations) showcasing their stunning costumes.

And of course… the food! 🤤

From doubles, saltfish fritters, and jerk chicken skewers to sweet treats like black cake, cassava pone, and hummingbird cake, every bite was a taste of the Caribbean.

More than just an event, Lime & Sip was about building relationships, creating new partnerships, and sharing the impact of the Caribbean Hub with our community. The support we receive helps us continue growing i-Land Fest and expanding our programs and initiatives throughout the year.

To everyone who joined us—thank you for making our inaugural Lime & Sip so special.
