What’s the difference between a public workshop and a private one?

Here’s how it works ⤵

Public Workshops:
These are the dates I open to everyone. You can come solo, bring a friend, or gather a few people — it’s a cozy night at the studio where you’ll meet new faces, share a few laughs, and design something beautiful together.
Tickets for public workshops open Tuesday, October 14.

Private Workshops:
These are your nights. You bring your group (12–20 people), and we set a date that works best for you. It’s perfect for friends, coworkers, or family wanting a night that’s all their own — same cozy setup, just your people.

All workshop tickets— public and private — will open on Tuesday, October 14. We’re limiting the number of available dates this season, so be sure to inquire early so you’re ready to secure your spot.

Both options are all about fresh winter greens, laughter, and leaving with something you’re proud of — you just get to choose your kind of night. Ps - there is always at home kits with video tutorials so you can also party at home!! Details on all the options are under “workshops” on our website!!

I hear it all the time —
“I’m just not that creative.”

There’s always a little hesitation when people walk through the door. That quiet worry that they might not be able to make something beautiful… or that they’ll leave disappointed.

But here’s the truth — since opening my doors in 2019, I’ve seen countless guests walk out proud of what they created.

Part of my job — and my joy — is knowing how to help when something doesn’t feel quite right. A few tweaks here, a little guidance there, and suddenly it all comes together.

One guest once told her group, “Janine never lets you leave unhappy.”
And I think that might be the best compliment I’ve ever received.

What’s New?

This year, we’re raising the bar for workshops at Petals and Stems. ✨

At every public workshop, guests will enjoy a curated snack table—already included in your ticket price.

Workshops themselves are also getting an upgrade: they’ll be seamless and intentional, with all the prep (wrapping, gluing, taping) done ahead of time. You’ll simply arrive, design, and enjoy.

For private workshops, we’ve created a flexible three-tiered system:
• At-Home Kits – budget-friendly, no group minimums—order for as few or as many as you’d like.
• In-Studio Workshops (no snack table) – straightforward, just the design experience.
• In-Studio with Curated Snack Table – elevate your evening with a grazing table prepared to make your night extra special.

✨ Plus, every private party host receives a special gift as our thank-you.

Book your private workshop before October 21st to receive 25% off all giftware in the shop on the night of your event.

TIPS AND TRICKS!

We’re so excited to share that our Farmyard Flickers candles are now available This is a line that so many of you have come to love and trust — known for its beautiful scent throw and the quality that makes every burn feel special. We’re confident you’ll be so happy with them.

A few little tips to get the very best from your candle: wood wicks always burn best when kept quite short — around an eighth of an inch is just right. It’s also important to clean off the charred edges of the wick before relighting, so your candle burns consistently each time. And when you light your candle, give it enough time to burn all the way to the edges so the wax melts evenly. That way you’ll avoid tunneling, and you’ll enjoy the longest, cleanest burn.

One more thing to keep in mind is that candle size matters for scent throw. A smaller candle is perfect for a smaller space, while a larger candle will carry beautifully in a bigger room. Matching the size of your candle to the size of your room makes all the difference if you want the fragrance to truly fill the space.

Eeeeep- tomorrow is October 1st…

Which means a few very fun and exciting things!!!

FINALLY Our Farmyard Flickers candle line will be available Café, at some point in the am! Tucked in among our seasonal fall scents, you’ll also find our favorite, Morning Brew — a warm, coffee fragrance that feels like a hug!

Tomorrow, October 1st is always a gentle turn of the season here — from wedding talk and frequent posts to more of a winter vibe- from bouquets to evergreens, from summer’s pace into cozy winter workshop anticipation.

The details for this year’s winter workshops have been quietly sitting on my website for a few days, but October 1st is when it all begins to feel real. It’s when I start leaning into winter mode — when the talk turns to gatherings, creating, and cozy evenings on the farm.

Both public and private workshop bookings will officially open October 14th. Until then, this is the time to plan, dream, and settle on the dates you’re hoping for. Spots are limited for every event, so planners need to be ready when registration opens.

Thinking of planning a private workshop with your own crew this winter? Details can be found under workshops online, and when the time feels right, please reach out to request calendar availability at any time. Bookings open October 14th- but it will pay to be prepared!

One of the things I love most about this work is that each of us brings something unique to the table. Every florist has a way of shining—whether that’s in small, intimate weddings, everyday arrangements, or large-scale celebrations. Each one requires a different kind of creativity and care, and every approach deserves credit.

For me, what lights me up is helping people bring their vision to life. I love taking the time to draw out the details, to listen closely, and to shape florals that feel true to a couple’s story. Because I’m not an everyday florist, I’m able to pour deeply into this process—helping those who love flowers find the very best ways for them to shine on their wedding day or at their event.

I believe there’s space for each of us to thrive, serving the people who connect with what we love most to create. And when we stay true to our own lane, everyone wins—our clients, our communities, and our craft.

First off, I am a wife and a mother, which just happens to be two of my favourite things!! The support of my little family has been so amazing. I am not sure if you have ever started a business... It's exciting, exhilarating, all those amazing things but also.....TERRIFYING. So often when my husband gets home from work I unload all my negative self doubt on him....and he quickly calms my fears and builds me back up again. I can't tell you how many times in the last weeks I have said things like “thank you for believing in me”. I am not sure I can even put a value on what it means to me to have such an amazing support system built right in.

SO WHAT IS THIS JOURNEY ABOUT?

This journey is about a vision. This is about something that has been burning deep within my being for a long long time. This journey is something I have been making pinterest boards about for years, under titles like “ Maybe someday” and “ dream store”. It’s a journey that has been 18 years in the making, with the passion for it growing with every passing year, and with every passing experience.
