Kel Modern Magic is a Magician in Vancouver, BC. We offer Corporate Events, Weddings, Special Events, and much more! Magic is an interesting art.

Welcome to my world where Magic has been my passion for pretty much all my life. I've been a magician for 18 years now performing, competing and learning. It takes years to master, minutes to perform, and the moment of true astonishment, wonder, and mystery only lasts for a split second in the mind. I hope to publish all of my content in one place to make the magic last.

B&B Contracting's company celebration. 75-plus years in business. 630 people. The entire hotel.

Heavy equipment operators, project leads, engineers, and field crews — the people who actually build BC's roads, utilities, and infrastructure. Not a tough-to-impress crowd. A crowd that doesn't clap unless you earn it.

That's the room I want. When it lands with people like that, it lands for real.

630 guests. One hotel. One of those nights.

JN Burnett Secondary dry grad. Sylvia P**n left a five-star review: "Students and volunteers alike were stunned by the incredible mind-bending illusions that left the audience filled with gasps, applause, and nonstop laughter!"
That's the bar for a grad show. A room full of grade 12s who've seen everything online — and they still gasped.

Vancouver Aquarium event. Table-to-table close-up while dinner was rolling.

Daphne Santos left us a five-star review: "Kel has it all, amazing magic tricks and great presence!!"

Roaming dinner magic works because it doesn't compete with the meal. The energy comes to each table, lands a moment, and moves on. Guests stay seated, the program stays on schedule, the room stays warm. By the time dessert hits, everyone's already on the same page.

Thinkific's office party. Close-up roaming through the team — the magic landing directly in someone's hands while the whole group watches it happen.

This is the format that works in an office setting. No stage, no setup, no AV. Just a tight circle of coworkers who can't figure out what they just saw. The person holding the card is the star. Everyone else is along for the ride.

Five stars from Tatyana Escobar at Remitly: "Everything was to the highest standards of jaw dropping."

That's the bar for corporate work. The team has seen the typical event entertainment options. The job is to give them something that lands. Something they'll bring up at the next quarterly meeting, or pull out their phone to send to a coworker who couldn't make it.

Tight, clean, premium. That's the brief.

Goldie's surprise birthday party. Cards in hand by the patio heater, lavender and flowers in bloom behind them, birthday cake table in the background.

This is what close-up at a garden party looks like. No stage, no setup — just the magic landing right in someone's open palm while the fire tower burns beside them.

Thank you to Nikkie for arranging the surprise, and to Perlla Faschoway for sharing these photos.

HUB International's Christmas party. Close-up mingling during cocktail hour — three people with blue cocktails leaning in, the moment right after the card revealed itself.
This is what cocktail hour is supposed to look like. People who work together standing in a tight circle, laughing, sharing the same beat. The magic isn't the point. The point is the conversation that starts because of it.
Corporate holiday parties live or die on the first hour. Get that part right and the rest of the night carries itself.

The card showed up on the phone. Nobody was ready.

Three different reactions happening at once — the woman in pink already losing it, the one in purple leaning in to confirm what she's seeing, the guy in the white shirt still processing. That's the moment close-up magic is built for.

Grip Tire and Auto's team event. Close-up at the tables. Five strangers, one deck, a few jaws on the floor by the end of the night.
Dean Washington's five-star review: "Absolutely amazing tricks and illusions."
Corporate close-up does one job better than any other entertainment. It gets people leaning in, asking questions, talking to coworkers they barely know. That's the whole point of bringing in a magician for a company event. The magic does the icebreaking so leadership doesn't have to.
