RECORD BREAKING $$$ AMOUNT RAISED FOR THE GVFB AT VCTS!

A huge thank you goes out to the Star Wars 501st Legion & all attendees/vendors of the Vancouver Comic & Toy Show for helping to raise $4,807.35 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank!

And a shoutout to Alyssa Formosa for the superb tour of the new Vancouver Food Bank facility!

It was inspiring learning details on how you accomplish feeding many tens of thousands of people weekly with fresh & nutritious food - as well as all the creative ways the GVFB routinely stops enormous amounts of food waste from happening!

Let’s all aim to break the VCTS GVFB donation amount once again this fall!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended Vancouver Comic & Toy Show #29 and helped make it such a success!

It was awesome meeting so many new collectors, catching up with old friends, and welcoming first-timers to the community. Your energy and enthusiasm made the weekend truly special!

GREATER VANCOUVER FOOD BANK $$$ FUNDING DRIVE!

Attention all Vancouver Comic & Toy Show Attendees!! We are excited to announce that For the 1st time ever - the Greater Vancouver Food Bank will be implementing a 50/50 Draw open to ALL Attendees of the Vancouver Comic & Toy Show this Weekend! One lucky winner will win 50% of a very large cash prize while the GVFB will also raise a lot of $$$ for their very important charity!

This very important charity will be located in the Front Lobby for the Attendee 50/50 Draw & also at the Star Wars photo booth!

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank was set up as a temporary relief to the hunger crisis in 1983 and has grown significantly in the four decades since then. Today, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank provides assistance to over 16,000 individuals weekly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore, as well as 160 Community Agencies across the province like neighbourhood houses, shelters, and after-school programs. Their mission is simple: they want to provide healthy food to those in need, and they need our support to do it!

PLEASE NOTE: The Greater Vancouver Food Bank does not accept Food Donations anymore due to Unhealthy Food Donations (non-nutritive food donated a lot of the time) / Better Buying Power ($$ go 2:1 further) & Labour Intensive Logistics (30% of food received is spoiled.)

JEREMY SIMSER ANNOUNCED FOR THE SHOW!

Jeremy Simser is an illustrator and storyboard artist, working in (but not limited to!) Vancouver, BC.

Some of his credits include Deadpool 2, Game of Thrones, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, The Boys, WandaVision, Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, Stranger Things, Deadpool and Wolverine, Fantastic Four: First Steps and Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter releasing in 2027.

In addition to his many film storyboard artist credits Jeremy also does art for comic books such as Kevin Smith’s comic book series Quick Stops / Jeremy Scott’s comic book series The Ables and more.

In his down time Jeremy chips away at his graphic novel Hockey: A Love Story (formerly Hit Somebody) written by Kevin Smith.

Heritage Auctions are returning to the Vancouver Comic & Toy Show this weekend! Barry Sandoval, Vice President, and Matthew McGee, Consignment Director, will have a table at the show and will once again be accepting consignments on-site for upcoming comic book and comic art auctions. They will be transporting consigned items back to Dallas, with Heritage handling all customs formalities. Any collectors who are not yet ready to sell, but just want to gather information for when the time is right, are welcome to come by the Heritage table to learn more about Heritage and the auction process.
