A mix of soft and hard textures, one of Arthur Erickson's first homes in Vancouver. The wood textures throughout soften the otherwise colder stone. Every space in this house brings back memories. To me, this will always be the Loh's house, where we gathered on holidays and where the parties just ballooned during Christmas. This small spot just under the stairs is where is kids would play while the adults mingled above. Laughter, yelling, music, echoing throughout the house. The fireplace crackling, always someone trying to keep it going. While capturing this space for the first time, I thought about all the stories that were made in this home. I only wish I had captured it earlier. Photos on their own don't really paint or tell the story enough, maybe a fraction of it.
