You charged $100 for a garland and walked away thinking you cleared $20 profit.
By the time you tally up wholesale balloons, double stuffing, rigging supplies, gas, vehicle wear and tear, and three hours of prep time, that $20 was gone before you even packed up your kit. You paid out of your pocket to work someone else's party.
Raw balloons are barely 15 to 20% of what an install actually costs to produce. Every quote has to cover your prep hours, transport, design time, insurance, and business overhead. When you leave those expenses out of your math, you end up funding the client's celebration yourself.
I put together Chapter 1: The No-BS Pricing Guide to give decorators the exact formula for pricing installations properly.
