Vancouver! Get familiar with our dear friend _kelbey_, who will be performing live at the third installment of Brain Bath alongside Pilgrims of the Mind next Saturday night. Kelbey is a long-time friend of the label and was integral to helping us design the booth at Paradise and spent countless hours making all of our Sunday With Pacific Rhythm & Friends at 390 Industrial possible through his thoughtful design and production sensibilities.

Beyond being a beautiful human and the most handy person we know, Kelbey is also a wonderful musician and will be performing a live ambient set with a selection of singing bowls, samplers, his trusty gong, and whatever else feels right. We’re elated to have him set the tone for the evening, and we encourage you to arrive early and bathe your brain with us before the BPMs increase and energy rises.

Dane’s Dance Emporium and Pacific Rhythm proudly present the return of Berlin-based Norwegian DJ and producer Telephones / European Carryall to the salty shorelines of the Glass City on September 26th.  

Telephones is renowned for his eclectic approach and curveball mixes spanning Balearic, proto-house, Detroit techno, cosmic explorations, and pure dancefloor hedonism—from dripping sweat to starry eyes and happy tears. With over 25 years of experience behind the decks, his journey began with primitive software and two Technics SL-1200s.

turntables in Bergen, Norway, at the turn of the Y2K. Since then, his music has organically and consistently evolved into a highly respected discography on labels like Running Back, S*x Tags UFO, Klasse Wrecks, Acido and Love On The Rocks to mention a few. Now a veteran in the scene, Telephones stays true to his underground ethos of euphoric togetherness and pure passion for music and movement.

Ahead of Pilgrims of the Mind’s first live performance in Vancouver since 2001 on September 5th at Brain Bath, he’s been sharing some essential ephemera of yesteryear and some unreleased music with us (more on that later). Safe to say anticipation is mounting, and we’re elated to finish off the summer season here in Vancouver with a memorable session from one of the scene’s founding forces and most iconic producers.

Vancouver. Good news. BRAIN BATH returns for its third session on September 5th with our dear friend Kelbey Saruk performing live, the return of Softer Drink’s complimentary tea service, and Pilgrims Of The Mind’s first live performance in Vancouver since 2001.

Pilgrims of the Mind is the moniker of Stephane Novak, a seminal figure in the history of Canada’s West Coast underground. Emerging from the fertile 90s warehouse culture of Vancouver, Stephane’s work has been celebrated for its meticulously crafted fusion of psychedelic house, ambient, and proto-trance.

While Stephane has remained a dedicated devotee to the craft for decades, his catalog has recently enjoyed a major resurgence among a new generation of selectors and audiophiles. This revival was sparked by the acclaimed 2023 reissue of his 1997 masterpiece, What’s Your Shrine?, by London-based label Heels & Souls, alongside key EP reissues on the Greek imprint Echovolt. These releases have garnered praise from publications like Mixmag and Test Pressing, reintroducing his “explosive” and “mind-expanding” productions to dance floors worldwide.

As always, the BRAIN BATH DJs will be priming the floor before, between, and after and making sure the energy stays intact and intentional. We’re pulling out all the stops for this one and can’t wait to wind down the summer with you all in fine style.

Greetings! Episode 101 of Pacific Spirit is here. This time around Pacific Rhythm alumni returns to the program with an hour of techy rollers recorded outdoors on a balmy afternoon right here in Vancouver, British Columbia. Here’s what SMP had to say about the recording.

For now, we’ve decided to close this chapter on a high note, with a packed month of Vibe Corridor alumni and the most affordable natural wine in the city every Wednesday at our beloved neighbourhood bar, .

As always, there’s $0 cover in effect all night long, and the music starts at 9pm and plays without interruption until 1am. Thanks for all the memories.
