I got painted at an event to scope out other face painters in my area. I had a reaction. And what I saw at
those booths as a professional was genuinely alarming.

Dirty water. Dirty brushes. No handwashing. A sick painter.

And vendors charging money for it at a public community event.

I reported it. Nothing changed.

This is why professional standards matter. This is why I started teaching. More next week.

Day 1 of 9 done and I am BUZZING 🙌⚽

Today MJC Artistry kicked off face painting at the FIFA World Cup Home Pitch activation in downtown Vancouver - a free pre-match party running three hours before each game this summer.

Flaming soccer balls were the most popular design of the day and honestly I can see why 🔥⚽

I’ll be back personally tomorrow for day two but my team will be holding down all nine CBC Vancouver match day activations. So proud of what we’ve built.

One of the most common questions we get from parents: how long does it last, and how do I get it off?

Face paint typically lasts 4-8 hours depending on skin type and how active your little one is. We use professional water-based paints, so removal is easy.

Pro tip: Lather soap on your hands first, then apply it to the face paint to emulsify it -- then wipe with a warm damp cloth. For any lingering colour, coconut oil or baby oil works great.

No harsh scrubbing needed, promise.
