We Film Events

We Film Events We Film Events empowers speakers, coaches, and trainers to bring their message to the world.

Leaders Media is an innovative event video production company, assisting associations, non-profit organizations, and Vancouver based companies to amplify their impact. As more than a production team, our experience producing both in person and virtual concerts, conferences and special events, will ensure we achieve your vision and exceed your expectations. Our team has an estimated 20,000+ hours o

f combined event video production experience, and we have created a proven production system to reliably capture your event, and be ready to quickly overcome the unexpected. All of this allows us to guarantee a positive viewing experience for your audience. As a lifelong entrepreneur and video production enthusiast, Leaders Media founder Trevor Marples began attending educational events at the age of 17. In the following years Trevor frequented seminars, workshops and conferences around Vancouver, and soon was hired to film many of these same events. He quickly discovered that his experience in event videography gave him a specialized skill set that wasn’t available through most video production or AV companies. This evolved into Leaders Media taking on event video production projects for other media companies, and shifted Trevor’s full time focus to filming events, workshops, and seminars across BC. In addition to filming events, he has been involved with producing them, serving as the Communications Director for TEDxWhiteRock in 2018, and as a co-organizer and the Technology Lead for the annual TEDxBearCreekPark event. Today the Leaders Media team empowers educators, associations and non-profit organizations, to amplify their impact in the world.

In June, the team produced the 2026 TEDxWestVancouverYouth event in the McEwen Theatre of the Kay Meek Arts Centre. This year’s edition was themed "RE.DEFINE," with speakers from 6-16 taking the stage to showcase ideas worth spreading across education, art, and community.

One might assume the messages were tailored to a youth audience, but the insights shared were equally relevant to all ages.

Implementing our specialized approach to filming and AV for TEDx events, the team captured the talks with 6 angles for dynamic editing and seamless content cuts, along with running slides and mics for the in-person audience.

We'll return for production of the signature TEDxWestVancouver event on November 15th!

Summer is sports season for us, starting with the BC Rugby Senior Club Finals, with two fields broadcast from the South Surrey Athletic Park.

The event featured:

- Men's & Women's club teams from across BC
- 7 games across two fields
- 8,000+ viewers on the BC Rugby YouTube channel
- Live commentators providing colour and play-by-play
- Real-time scoreboard and sponsor graphics

With the help of Martin Media, we incorporated live drone coverage of the men’s championship match, providing a unique perspective of the gameplay for analysis and immersion.

We’re thrilled to have been a sponsor for this event and help make the games accessible to the BC-wide rugby community. We’ll be back with the 2026 U19 Championships in Abbotsford, July 4 - 5. Tune in on the Rugby BC YouTube channel.

Production of the original Comedy Musical ‘Are You Afraid of the 90s?’ created by Rob Anderson is officially live on YouTube!

Recorded at the sold-out Vogue Theatre show in February, the 75-minute nostalgia trip revives the wildest 90s TV and Movie moments we've all erased from our memories.

We filmed the show with 7 cameras and 5 operators for a dynamic coverage of the stand-up plus performances of 5 original songs written and performed by Rob.

The show has passed 100,000 views on YouTube this week, with clips breaking 10 million views on social media in the past few days.

Last week, we provided audiovisual and live-streaming coverage for the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum, Women in Tech & Impact Tech Pitch Showcase at UBC, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from across BC.

Our team handled mics, projection, camera, and streaming for the in-person and remote audience to follow the event in real time. As a bonus, we invited a BCIT Broadcast program intern to join our crew for the day. They worked directly alongside our team to gain real-world experience on site and added value as a bonus camera operator to enhance production for the client.

Thank you to the VEF team for having us!

Marking International Women's Day, and our third TEDx event in March, we had the pleasure of capturing Canada's largest TEDxWomen event at the Kay Meeks Art Centre.

TEDxWestVancouverWomen delivered powerful stories of resilience, leadership, and innovation from speakers, including Optometrist, Dr Melissa Barnett, Fitness leader Amitis Nate, and former BC Cabinet Minister, Melanie Mark, capped off with a performance from cellist and violinist duo Sabat & Sawen, which will be uploaded to the official TEDx YouTube channel along with the talks.

In addition to the filming, our crew handled the event audio-visual, stage design and technical logistics, working with the venue's phenomenal tech team to achieve a 🔴 TED-level experience.

TEDxVancouver returned this year for the first time since 2018, and Trevor was there to support as the Production Lead behind the scenes.

In November, he joined the leadership team to assist with coordination between the event producers, coaches, AV and video production, arranging the technical elements of the event, contributing his 8 years of TEDx production experience.

A highlight for him was collaborating with the TEDxVancouver team in person, after many Zoom calls and Slack chats. He also had the pleasure of connecting with the high profile speakers, including retired Canadian Olympic Gold medalist Karina LeBlanc, and Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio.

Congratulations to the team and production partners for bringing this event back in such a powerful way! With the annual TED conference leaving Vancouver in 2027, TEDxVancouver is ready to step in and continue the legacy.

Last weekend, we were back for the fourth year supporting Options BC by broadcasting the 29th Children, the Heart of the Matter Conference at the Bells Performing Arts Center in Surrey.

We streamed the keynote addresses from Dr. Mariana Brussoni, who spoke on embracing uncertainty and risky play, and Len Pierre, who discussed Coast Salish teachings on the connection, value and sacred responsibility to the land, alongside a range of presentations and panel discussions over the 2 days.

We used a picture-in-picture layout to display the presenter's slides alongside a camera feed for a single feed to ensure learning and conversations were accessible beyond the room to a wider online audience.

It was great to support the Options BC once again, looking forward to CHOM's 30th anniversary in 2027!

We started 2026 strong with the 8th year of TEDxSurrey, a sold-out day where ideas, storytelling, and production came together on the Bell Performing Arts Center stage.

We're proud to serve as the presenting partner once again, with Trevor leading as Technical Producer and Director of the event. The team filmed the talks and performances with 8 cameras and broadcast them live for virtual ticket holders across 7 counties.

With 1,000+ in-person attendees and a powerful lineup of speakers, including Dr Vanessa Lapointe, Karina Inkster, Dr. Brenda Lau and more, spanning parenting, wellness, living one's values, and personal transformation, reflecting TEDxSurrey’s mission to share ideas worth spreading.

It’s always a privilege to help bring events like this to life, then craft the recordings to reach thousands more online. Videos coming soon!

As we kick off the New Year, we want to look back on the time we had filming TEDxWestVancouver: Re. Awaken at the beautiful Key Meets Arts Centre, hosted by Cossalter Stefano. The team captured a powerful lineup of ideas from 13 speakers ranging from therapists to athletes, survivors, medical specialists, business leaders and more.

Using 6 cameras, we delivered a dynamic mix of intimate close-ups and wide shots with the goal of immersing viewers in these ideas and stories delivered from the stage.

Special congratulations to Art Dodd on being selected by TED for an Editor’s Pick, a well-deserved recognition. We’re already looking ahead and excited to be back for TEDxWestVancouverWomen in March!

Cheers to the New Year!
