Another Tyne Valley Oyster Festival has come to an end!

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, competed, and supported this year’s festival. Your support is what makes this week so special.

A special thank you to all of our subcommittees for the incredible work you do each year, including the Pageant Committee, Oyster Supper Committee, Parade Committee, and Kids Events Committee. Your dedication and countless hours of hard work help make the festival such a success.

It’s impossible to thank everyone individually because it takes so many people, far beyond our Board of Directors, to make this festival run smoothly. To those who return year after year to volunteer at the doors, sell 50/50 tickets, work the bar, sell drink tickets, help behind the scenes, judging oysters grading or shucking, or lend a hand wherever needed, thank you. We know who you are, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you give to our community.

A big shoutout to our amazing summer students this year Julie Noye & Addison Ford! These girls were a massive help!

We’ll see you next year!

Sincerely,
Tyne Valley Oyster Festival Committee

Happy National Oyster Day! πŸ¦ͺ

Did you know?
Malpeque oysters take 3–5 years to grow to market size.
A single oyster can filter up to 50 litres of water every day.
PEI’s Malpeque oysters are enjoyed around the world for their fresh, clean taste.

A huge thank you to the hardworking oyster harvesters and growers who make it all possible.

What’s your favourite way to eat your oysters? πŸ¦ͺπŸ‘‡ Raw, grilled, Rockefeller, fried, or something else? Let us know in the comments!

Get Shucked In was a huge success!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our very first Get Shucked In event!

This year, all proceeds were donated to the PEI Shellfish Association in support of mental health initiatives for our oyster fishermen. Supporting the men and women who make a living on the water is incredibly important to us as they are the heart of the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival. Without our oyster industry, there simply wouldn’t be a festival.

A special thank you to Noye & Noye for generously sponsoring the booth and helping make this event possible.

Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised an incredible $2,064.00!

An even bigger thank you to Kevin and Tashia Maynard, owners of Fergusons Funeral Home for matching that donation dollar for dollar, bringing the grand total to an amazing $4,128.00! πŸ‘

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bob MacLeod and the PEI Shellfish Association for spending the entire weekend shucking oysters, supporting the event, and creating so many fun memories for everyone who stopped by. Your enthusiasm and dedication helped make this first year event such a success.

Thank you to everyone who donated, cheered us on, and helped make the first-ever Get Shucked In an unforgettable success. We can’t wait to do it again! πŸ¦ͺ
