Fluid Events is proud to have hosted the third virtual Our Language Rights Canada Conference this week!
Generously sponsored by our innovative client and Canadian non-profit social enterprise MCIS Language Solutions, this event was a gathering place for language rights advocates to meet, network, share stories and learn about language rights and linguistic justice advocacy projects that promote language rights as human rights in Canada.

The two-day conference was offered in both official languages, with closed captioning, audio translation, and simultaneous interpretation using American Sign Language (ASL) and Langue des signes Québécoise (LSQ).

The 2023 theme “Language, Education, Stories Untold” focused on the importance of language education and storytelling in preserving culture, and history and fostering a sense of identity, belonging, and deeper human connection - as told by those who face language barriers or even language extinction. It was an inspiring conference, and we were proud to join the conversation around sustainability and ensuring no language is left behind.

Events can be overwhelming, stressful, and sometimes unruly, but it is all worth it when you can say that in one year, we were able to help our clients raise over $14M for their mission.

When we were hired by in early 2020, we were planning a large-scale Gala with 1000 people, and then COVID-19 hit with the unknowns at the time, so we pivoted to a multi-venue gala at 20 different venues thinking we would be ok. Then six weeks before the event, we pivoted to a fully virtual event.

Three years later, we finally planned an in-person event across four venues in Canada. Two in Toronto, one in Ottawa and one in Vancouver - all simultaneously! This one was a logistic masterpiece - countless vendors, budgets, caterers, floorplans. We laughed, we stressed and as always, we gave it our all to plan and execute a great event. Ultimately, we all celebrated a hugely successful event raising $1.8M for Canadian military members, veterans and their families.

We went 'Into the Future' for the Humber River Hospital Foundation's 2022 The River Ball at Universal Eventspace! This 80s-inspired evening was filled with glitz and a radical 80s vibe. It resulted in an incredible fundraising total of $1.13 million to help fund the purchase of a da Vinci Surgical Robot and expand their Robotic Surgery Program. Congratulations on a hugely successful evening, and thank you for trusting us with your event!
