Ritmo Flamenco is Toronto's foremost Flamenco Dance School and Company directed by the Scannura family who pursue their art form with excellence and authenticity. Our new location in the Junction/Stockyards offers classes in flamenco dance and bellydance for all levels. This studio is also a performance venue and Ritmo Flamenco will be hosting intimate flamenco gatherings featuring members of our ensemble.

Wednesday, August 12 has Elementary Level from 6:45-7:45pm and Advanced from 7:45-9:00pm

Thursday, August 23 has INTRO Levels from 6:45-7:45pm and Intermediate from 7:45-9:00pm.

Flamenco party hosted by the sweet Ana where she graciously hosted some of the Ritmo clan with paella, tapas and more ! It was a special evening and we had great time dancing!!

Even though our base is in Toronto, Valerie and Roger Scannura have a home in Prince Edward County and for over a decade their presence has injected a distinct European and Spanish artistic flavour into the rural arts scene of the county.

The ensemble is a registered member of the Prince Edward County Arts Council, adding cultural diversity to the local creative community.

Living in the centre of wine country, they regularly perform at various wineries and special events. Catch them at Redtail Winery or or Huff Estates as well as special private events at the Royal Hotel, Wander the Resort and the Eddie.

i’m still in a euphoric state after having experienced the great Flamenco dancer Mercedes Ruiz at our studio for two days of workshops!

Mercedes is one the world’s great flamenco dancers who is from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. What she gave us is an intense immersion into the Bulerias de Jerez!

Ritmo Flamenco was thrilled to have the great flamenco bailora Mercedes Ruiz come to our studio teach two amazing workshops!

I danced to my maximum power and I’m proud to post myself dancing in the zone alongside my daughter Anjelica Scannura and company dancer Sachi Uguccioni

Mercedes taught us a choreography, which is Bulerias de Jerez in the authentic Jerez style which she is privy to having been born and raised and had as de la Frontera where she started dancing at age 4. There are many rules to dancing this style in its purest form. it was great to have my students exposed to this and see them enjoy the entire experience!
