Love and Peonies Wedding Services

Love and Peonies Wedding Services Wedding Planning/Coordination by Sara Iao and Anita Thai Weddings don’t have to be about the glitz and the glam or the perfect dress.

They don’t have to be about the flowers being late, the cake going missing, or the best man losing the rings. It can be and should be, a day that everyone can enjoy and remember. Sara is a Certified Wedding Planner with a knack for organization and an eye for detail. Anita is an artist with several years of catering and managerial experience who enjoys the rush and excitement of putting together a

n event. With Anita’s imagination, resourcefulness, and leadership skills and Sara’s passion, organization and expertise, Love and Peonies Wedding Services can make every arrangement simple and easy but extravagant, showcasing the unique love of you, the bride and groom, to the friends and family you wish to share your vows with. Sara:
Anita and I met in junior high and later became closer when we started our job at a fast-food restaurant. Given that, I know her work ethics and her high sense of responsibility. When I needed an assistant to help me with my first wedding, I thought about her and that was the beginning of Love and Peonies. Anita is my creative cat (an awesome artist on the side) and I know I can depend on her resourcefulness and her ability to get things done under pressure and stress. Want to know something extra about this girl? She is awesome with pins and needles (pinning boutonnieres on the groom and groomsmen, pinning the tulle and fabric on the tables, and pinning the runners, just to name a few). Anything that requires pins, I know Anita will excel in it! We are very different people, but a wise person once said sometimes the opposite attracts. Anita:
It might be hard to find in the world we live in today but Sara is a TRUE ROMANTIC. She is a dreamer and loves everything that has to do with love and weddings. To add on, she is the most meticulous, organized and punctual person I know. We are two complete opposites which we both discovered works perfectly together when organizing any type of event because where ever I fall short; Sara is there to solve it and visa versa. With us, all grounds are covered.

Long distance relationships are hard. It takes a lot of trust and a lot of work. It requires two people to have a lot of faith in each other and in the relationship. It requires a shared vision for the future, a willing promise and a strong bond, but when it works it is a beautiful love and this is John and Naomi’s love.

I met John first before meeting Naomi months later. We visited a few venues and when we went to St. Lawrence Hall, John knew he found the place for their special day. Their wedding took place at gorgeous St. Lawrence hall in one spring day. Breath-taking chandeliers hung from the ceiling in the grand pink room (yes, pink) as they exchanged their vows, as they shared their first dance as husband and wife, and as they celebrated their love with the people they love.

Congratulations John and Naomi!

Amy and Felix are amazing to work with. The day started at the church where a friend played A Thousand Years on the piano as the bridal party entered. Amy looked beautiful in her dress and Felix was there at the end of that aisle waiting for her. I can’t imagine what goes through a man’s mind when they are standing there waiting. Oddly I never asked, but if anyone would like to share, please let me know.

Amy and Felix decided to have a lunch wedding at the beautiful Sunnybrook Estate. Their theme was carnival and it was there in the details from the decoration on the cake to the bright yellow in their bouquets and bridal party attire.

Amy and Felix, thank you for giving us the opportunity to coordinate your wedding. We wish you a lifetime of laughter and happiness together. Your hearts now have a home, your hands will always have each other to hold and you will never be alone.

I love this poem by Pablo Neruda. Wouldn't it be sweet to have it printed on the runner or on the cocktail napkins?

"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.

If you plan on having a DJ for your wedding day it is very important to find someone that you get along with and someone who understands your taste in music. With that said, it is very important that you meet them in person and get to know him/her before booking. A good DJ can really help enhance the overall wedding day experience, not just for the dancing but for the overall flow of the wedding day. So do your research, meet with them and find your perfect one :)

You don't have to wear glass shoes, eat a bad apple or sleep for too long to be a princess. You are a princess because you found your prince.

One Big Family

Sometimes, it can feel like you are working all alone when trying to get all the odds and ends together for a wedding. Especially when it involves Chinese door games, traditional tea ceremonies, translators for 2 different Chinese languages + English and detailed decor for the restaurant and the church. Not to mention a 9-course meal.

But for Helen and Desmond's big day, this was definitely not the case. These two had the biggest, most caring group of friends and family who were there at every turn to lend a helping hand. I think of this day a lot because no matter how hard you plan and prepare, things will always go differently, but with an open mind and a little resourcefulness, different can still end beautifully.

Thank you to the vendors, the staff, the florists, and the friends and family for all your help. Most of all, thank you Helen and Desmond for letting Sara and I be apart of your special day.
