The MAAT Youth Innovation & Cultural Centre presents its roster of free Fall STEM programs for Black-identifying youth. Wiz Kid will deliver the programs, and please note that programs are online, however, if your child requires the use of a computer they are welcome to come in person at the MAAT youth centre and we will provide one and space to engage in the program. Please email Kareem Milson, Manager of Youth Programs at [email protected] if you require this service. There is a program for each age group, please read carefully and ensure that you sign up for the correct program. The programs are as follows:

Roblox Game Design (Ages 8 -- 12) - Using Roblox Studio, youth will learn key game development & coding skills all while creating an exciting and engaging online learning environment.

UI/ UX App Design Program (Ages 13 -15) - is designed for youth create epic digital masterpieces, discover the secrets of AI magic, and even chat about the big questions like, "Is my robot buddy being ethical?" Get ready to paint the digital town red (or any color AI suggests)!

Digital Entrepreneur & APP Design Program (Ages 16 -18) -- Youth will learn what it takes to be a Digital Entrepreneur and Content Creator through learning how to craft a compelling business idea, how to pitch and promote your business, create marketing assets for your online brands - as well understand the entire process of app creation from ideation, wireframing, to basic prototyping.

Parent Workshop: Social Media & Your Child's Self Esteem

Join us for an interactive and engaging session to explore the relationship between social media and self-esteem. We will discuss the challenges connected to parenting in a social media-focused world and share strategies and tips to promote positive mental health while building long-lasting connections.Registration for the session on September 20th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at 100 Galloway Rd is now open!

We will be providing child care that night as well, you must register your child separately. A light dinner will be served.

Just a reminder of the Reading Partnership for Parents (RPP) is a 10-week play-based program that guides parents through the process of teaching their children (aged 4-6) to read. It equips them with the skills, tools and confidence to improve their children’s literacy levels by fostering positive reading and learning environments at home. Participating families receive over $200 worth of learning tools and resources.

Early Readers Start Here

We're excited to announce that registration for Reading Partnership for Parents (RPP) is now open! RPP is a 10-week play-based program by The Reading Partnership () that guides parents through the process of teaching their children (ages 4-6) to read. Participating families receive over $200 worth of learning tools and books.

The program runs from October to December this fall with both online and in-person offerings.
