We have some news!
TL;DR: No TOSHC in 2026, returning as an all-WCS event in 2027.
Hello, Friends. I am both disappointed and excited to announce that The Toronto Open (TOSHC) is going on hiatus for 2026, and returning in July, 2027 - when we return to our roots as an all-West Coast Swing event.
T.O. has evolved many times since its start as a West Coast Swing event in 2009, incorporating Lindy, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Salsa, and (obviously) Hustle.
Our dance communities are growing and the time and space constraints of one weekend make it unlikely that we can give both communities the representation and experience that everyone deserves, so I have made a difficult decision not to include Hustle in our future events.
I'm so grateful, as the Event Director, to the Hustle community that has continued to support TOSHC, and grateful on a personal note, to a community that was so welcoming to me as a new dancer and competitor. Thank you.
Moving forward, I hope that you'll bear with me as I will continue to strive for an event that makes this community proud. In the meantime, don't forget that you have two new, fantastic opportunities to dance and compete in Ontario. It's their first year and I know they'd love to have you.
