When Kelley approached me about joining in the nostalgic maximalist shoot this is what went through my mind:
Love the vibe, Wow, MY HOUSE is so cool, and oh my god Bearded Iris will be in season! And pansies, and maybe there will be a little bit of lilac left?! I welcome any reason to get my hands on even one of these varieties, so naturally I was in.
I made a visit to Marie 〰 FIELD NOTES | Ontario flower farm & nursery to collect the bearded iris, and to FrenchBlooms for the pansies, both of which I ordered far more than I needed because honestly, I have no self control, but also, I have 0 regrets.
Then went to my in laws place because I’m fairly certain they had the last lilac left anywhere at that time. Only a bit of it lasted in time for the shoot (we almost made it!), but we got some beautiful campanula to use in addition to it.
Everything was designed onsite, which in hindsight, was maybe not one of my best ideas, but it was so worth it in the end.
I loved this day (and this bouquet!) so much, we ate the most delicious cake and everyone was such a joy to work with - everything felt like it really came together and fit the space perfectly.
AND I guess it did because we were featured in Today’s Bride blog and on the cover of Today’s Bride 2026 Planning Guide! Link to blog in bio!
