August update...
The dahlias are starting to bloom and these two are the first to open, Golden Scepter and Jomanda.
This season I needed a bright yellow and another orange shade in my bouquets. If you know my style I lean toward shades of pinks, peach, apricot etc.
But there's nothing like a pop of primary colours that really grab your attention.
I'm in love with both of these. Jomanda is a giant. I call it orange but it's so much more. Described as rusty burnt orange with undertones of salmon, soft pink and raspberry it's the most gorgeous colour!
Golden Scepter is exactly the shade of yellow I was hoping for, not too pale, not too gold, just the perfect sun shiny yellow!
Almost every dahlia plant is in bud now. Can't wait until our next market at the Brooklin Farmers Market on August 15th to start sharing these!
