🎾 A Special Visit from Erin Routliffe at the NBO!

Former OTA Junior star and 2025 US Open Women’s Doubles Champion Erin Routliffe stopped by the OTA booth at the National Bank Open to receive a special thank-you card from the girls and young women who recently participated in a Girls. Set. Match. (GSM) event at Sobeys Stadium.

Rogers First Set Day at the NBO!🎾

What an unforgettable day for the next generation of tennis players!

On August 4, 75 young players from seven Ontario tennis clubs that hosted Rogers First Set events were treated to an incredible experience at the National Bank Open.

🎾 On-court activities on the Grandstand
👏 Guard of honour for the pros
🏆 Two Fair Play Award recipients took part in the Centre Court coin toss
🏟️ Behind-the-scenes stadium tour
🎟️ An afternoon watching NBO action from a suite
⭐ And a special visit from 2025 NBO Women’s Singles Champion and fellow Ontarian Vicky Mboko!

The day also began with 500 racquets being given to children attending the morning NBO session.

A huge thank you to Rogers and Tennis Canada for helping create an experience these young players will never forget!

OTA Presidents Day at the National Bank Open!

The OTA welcomed 200+ member-club Presidents and representatives to Presidents Day at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers on Monday!

Guests enjoyed breakfast, presentations from OTA and Tennis Canada, and a special appearance from NBO Tournament Director Karl Hale, who shared stories and memories from the tournament’s history.

A special highlight was the presentation of the inaugural OTA President’s Service Recognition Award, presented by North Central Region Chair Arun Persad to seven deserving OTA member-club Presidents in recognition of their outstanding service and volunteerism.

After the morning’s proceedings, guests headed to Centre Court to enjoy the day’s action!

A huge thank you to Tennis Canada for facilitating the tickets and to all of our incredible club leaders and volunteers for their continued dedication to growing tennis at the grassroots level across Ontario.

2026 Bloomex Cup Results! 🏆

The 2026 Bloomex Cup wrapped up in Ottawa last weekend after an action-packed week featuring 240+ junior players, 350+ matches, and some incredible tennis across the U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions!

Despite a few rainy days, the tournament kept rolling thanks to the support of clubs across the region.

Congratulations to all the players who competed, and a special congratulations to U14 Boys Singles Champion Kiyann Jabbour, finalist Noah Gwosdy, third-place finisher and Fair Play Award winner Benjamin Woo, and fourth-place finisher Finn Henry!

Thanks to title sponsor Bloomex, the Ottawa Tennis Club for for hosting the tournament, the Government of Ontario for hosting grant funding and to Rideau Sports Club and Tennis Club West Ottawa for stepping up to allow the tournament to move indoors during the rain!
