🎾 Rogers First Set Event a Success at Alliston Tennis Club!

Alliston Tennis Club welcomed approximately 10 young participants to a Rogers First Set Try event last week, with many stepping onto a tennis court for the very first time.

A special highlight of the day was a visit from Town of New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross, who spent time with participants, observed the instruction, helped distribute prizes, and presented the club with a certificate recognizing its contribution to Tennis Month in Canada.

Thank you to Mayor Norcross, Instructor Peter Simko, founding club president Carolyn Knowles, Director Mary Parsons, Orland Kirkness, Chris Belcher, and all the players and parents who helped make the event such a memorable day.

Special thanks as well to Rogers First Set and Tennis Canada for supporting this fantastic community tennis initiative and helping introduce the sport to the next generation of players. 👏🎾

🎾 Dabrowski Delivers Strong French Open Performance! 🇨🇦

Gabriela Dabrowski (Ottawa) enjoyed another impressive Grand Slam showing at Roland-Garros, reaching the Mixed Doubles Final and the Women’s Doubles Semifinals.

Partnering with Evan King in mixed doubles, Dabrowski advanced to the championship match before narrowly falling in a deciding match tiebreak. In women’s doubles, she and Luisa Stefani reached the semifinals at the season’s second Grand Slam.

The strong result moves Dabrowski up to No. 3 in the WTA Doubles Rankings, just one spot shy of her career-high ranking.
