In honour of , we take a look back to this truly inspiring story of Africa's first curlers to compete in a Winter Olympics event. Known as the 'Broomzillas', Nigeria's young mixed curling team broke all barriers and became the darlings of the Gangwon 2024 Youth Winter Olympic Games, despite not being able to train on ice. The ‘Broomzillas’ became the first curlers from the African continent to compete in the sport at a Winter Olympic event. Despite not being able train on ice in Nigeria yet, the team members are optimistic about the future.
