The Brantford Police Service are aware of rumours that two individuals were recently located deceased due to hypothermia.
We would like to advise the public that these rumours are not true.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public how to access emergency shelter in the City of Brantford.

SOAR Community Services assists individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness and in need of emergency shelter.

If you, or someone you know, does not have anywhere to stay and are in immediate need of shelter, please call the Emergency Sheltering Intake Line at 1-888-621-0034 or email [email protected]

Emergency Intake services can be accessed from midnight to 8am by phone 1-888-621-0034 and in-person, walk-in services can be accessed at 73 Murray Street from 8 am to midnight.

Hey everyone at the Social Underground community,
Today, we want to share a story that's hit close to home this festive season. As we gather with loved ones and celebrate, it's important to remember those who are facing unimaginable challenges, like a 16-year-old girl who finds herself without a home this Christmas.
🌟 Her Journey 🌟
After losing her parents at a young age, she was placed under the care of the Children's Aid Society. Despite their efforts, she hasn't received the support needed to thrive. Recently, she experienced a traumatic incident at a shelter, leading to her unjust removal and a subsequent missing person's report, without first attempting to contact her or her emergency contacts.

We believe in action, support, and compassion. That's why we're stepping up to make a difference in her life. We've launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide her with a safe living space for the next 6-12 months, covering her rent, phone bills, and transportation.
