Thank you all for coming to the Trans Day of Visibility Poetry Showcase! π³οΈββ§οΈ
The poetry showcase wasnβt just an event where the 2SLGBTQ+ artists recited their poetry; itβs about visibility in a world where trans voices are often marginalized, misunderstood, and erased.
Itβs also about celebrating the trans community locally and showing that Thunder Bay is not just a place where we live. Itβs a place where trans people belong! β€οΈ
Thank you to the wonderful speakers who shared their poetry with us:
π Haley Andrew-Pels
π Erin Stewart
π Fairy Contagious
π Parv Kaur
π Sophie Kuhn (as herself and in place of John Forget)
Thank you to the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, the Gender Equity Centre at Lakehead University, and Diversity Thunder Bay for supporting the poetry showcase! Your generosity helped make the event free and accessible π
Thank you to Brian, Erin, and Reggie from Roots Community Food Centre for sharing your space and for your amazing hospitality π«Ά
