It’s all in the details! 🤎

From the table linens and runners to the centrepieces that bring everything together, it’s amazing how the right décor can turn a room into a space that feels warm, welcoming, and ready to gather.

This setup is a little behind-the-scenes look at bringing all those details together — because creating a beautiful event space is about more than just setting out tables and chairs.

The reality:

Not every open space is automatically a tent-friendly space. Before we set up, there are several things we need to consider:

Ground conditions: Is the ground level, stable, and suitable for staking?
Underground utilities: We need to know what’s below the surface before stakes go into the ground.
Overhead clearance: Trees, power lines, buildings, and other structures can affect where a tent can safely go.
Access: Our trucks and equipment need enough room to get to the setup location.
Space around the tent: We need room for stakes, guy lines, entrances, and safe movement around the structure.
Tent size: The available space needs to accommodate the tent and everything around it—not just the footprint of the tent.
Weather & exposure: The location can affect how the tent handles wind, rain, and other weather conditions.
What’s going inside: A 40×60 tent might physically fit, but once you add tables, chairs, a dance floor, buffet, bar, or DJ, you may need a different layout or size.

The takeaway:
An empty space doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right space for a tent. ⛺

That’s why site planning is an important part of the rental process—we want to make sure the tent works for both the space and your event.

It's a mix of emotions, endings and extensions - for our beloved Market Square! The last full event of the season (but do not panic, IT IS NOT the last Farmer's Market under the big white tent) is set for this Saturday! If you've missed some of the full Summer Market events on the square, here's your chance! Our gratitude goes out to our Presenting Sponsor Standard Motors Standard Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Standard NissanBadlands Harley-Davidson for the great season, and for making Market Square possible for 13 glorious weeks of summer! Many thanks also to the Event Coordinators Grasslands Events for all their care and attention for the summer market vendors and visitors! On the Innovation Federal Credit Union stage, host and entertainment coordinator Alan J Hudec may have a friend stop by to join him (as is tradition to close the stage season) - and then the country & western favourites of Tea and Crumpets plays 10 til noon. After them, it's Bramble and the Rose taking us noon to close. But nothing is ending yet for the makers, bakers, and growers of the Swift Current & District Farmers Market - they will continue to be operating all the remaining Saturdays in September! Please extend your patronage for a couple more weeks - show them how grateful we are for our partners! And thanks to all of you, for all the support - we love our Market Square, in our beautiful downtown City of Swift Current.
