So many happy faces at our lunch this week enjoyed a warm turkey stew or lentil soup for our vegetarian diners and of course cookies 🍪
We were lucky to have York Region Food Network join us and bring an abundance of affordable fruit and vegetables and of course we took time to celebrate the women we surround ourselves with each week that make a difference in our community for

Today we took time to celebrate the ways we all bring kindness to our community and tackle bullying
We enjoyed tuna melts, tomato basil soup and delicious cookies. Sponsored by the Traumatic Incident Response Protocol team. The vaughancommunityhealthcentre was on hand to offer healthy eating tips and we donated some meals through a grant from Routes Connecting Communities Inc. and uwgreaterto to innfromthecold and Hospice Georgina

We appreciate the 100 people that joined us in person today for our Black History Month kick off. We really enjoyed the Brown Stew Chicken with Rice and Peas and ginger cookies made our amazing kitchen team. Special thanks to kendrayogacenter for sharing her insights on how we can all work smarter to make sure everyone is seen and heard in Georgina.
Thanks also yorkregionfoodnetwork for bringing so many great fresh vegetables and fruit to the market and to York Regional Police Association for their sponsorship of the meal.
Routes Connecting Communities Inc. was able to donate 15 meals to Hospice Georgina for their caregiver program and 9 meals to inn_from_the_cold at the Link through the uwgreaterto program.
All this plus a Happy Birthday song 👮 🎂 and a riddle from Jessie- it was another great day

Love was in the air today at the community lunch ❤️
We celebrated Valentine’s Day a bit early and took note of what we love, heard a story about love from Tim Greenwood , ate a delicious meal made with love by our kitchen team including heart shaped cookies that were so delicious, all sponsored by Health Georgina
We had some lovely raffle prizes donated by Hiveshare, Naturally Enchanted and Routes Connecting Communities Inc. and an impromptu rendition of O Canada when Scot Davidson came by with a flag to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 🇨🇦
It was a great day ! We even had some leftover to donate to the

Today was an amazing day 🤗
We served 160 people the most delicious pot pie 🥧
We partnered with York Region Food Network to bring an almost sold out fresh food market to town
Our volunteers from the Good Food Collective and friends from thelearningcafecommunity helped prep the turkeys donated by Georgina Food Pantry
This lunch was sponsored by Town of Georgina Housing survey and we had Christine and Lauren Helmkay Wellness share some fitness techniques and of course there were 🍪
We also had enough prepped to donate to the food pantry 🥰

Have you heard of the programs sweeping through Georgina as an offering from the Live Well Georgina - Turning the page on age project? Funded by the Senior’s Community Grant through the Government of Ontario, these classes are free of charge for adults 55 years of age and older.

Join us just at the end the community lunch on Wednesday February 5 as leads a demonstration of Ageless Grace, 21 simple tools performed seated to improve your cognitive and functional fitness!

Take this opportunity to learn about Ageless Grace and the other Town of Georgina's Live Well Georgina no cost programs!

Today we celebrated Chinese New Year 🧧
The year of the 🐍 and we enjoyed the company of over 90 people at our lunch at the Link
Thanks to York Region (The Regional Municipality of York) public health for bringing information related to smoking and va**ng and how to quit with a strategy
With the help of recipes from Chef Cori and our talented volunteers we also managed to make a food contribution at innfromthecold in Sutton and the Keswick Community Fridge with some extra help

We were happy to donate 24 containers of fresh Asian Chicken Corn Chowder to the fridge this afternoon after our community lunch.
We arrived just in time to give some warm soup to 4 people who got there when we did .
There was nothing in the fridge when we arrived.
